Many of you already know how finding threads work now. For those that are new, here is the way to find threads that you are interested in finding. Either for a short time or long term efforts. On your community profile (click on your avatar), you will find your posts. The method below is a way to find posts you may just want to read or keep up with.Couldn’t find this elsewhere, sorry if it is duplicated. When viewing a thread, under the subject post of the thread there is a place to Like, Follow and Share. If you want to find that thread to either post again or just keep up with --- Click Follow. This will have the post(s) you Follow show in the Activity Button at the top of the screen. As will any private messages you receive. If you no longer want these notices for any topic, just click --- Unfollow. Hope this helps. Hope I put in everything I wanted. There is no way to Preview (that I can find) my entire post. There is also @SereneSeagull ‘s post on text size work around. https
How can someone, opt out from AARP magazines and insurance companies filling up my PO box?
What are the definitions of the various levels of commenters on the forums? What do you have to do to advance your level?
[Friday 9/4/26]Apologies if I am "missing" this in ALL the info you guys have posted. With the OLD SITE, I "deleted" the AARP Private Messages (PMs) as soon as I read the ones I received & sent. With NEW SITE, I "figured" out to "supposedly" delete the ones I sent, but a record of them still exists in my mailbox.Lol, does this mean we will NEVER run out of SPACE in our mailboxes?I know with my Email Provider IF I run out of "space", I CANNOT send or receive emails.Same with my Cell Phone Provider for texts. Also, we use to be able to see when our PMs were read? Did we lose this with NEW SITE?Thank you SO MUCH for your help with this!!!I am probably "missing" something here at age 68 this month. Old & hating these "changes" but understand it was time to UPGRADE the AARP Community Board.Take care,Nicole 🤗💛
I am writing to bring to your attention a growing consumer protection issue that requires legislative action: the unfair and inconsistent application of credit card surcharges by medical offices. Medical practices are increasingly adding credit card surcharges to patient copays and medical bills without proper disclosure or consistent application. This practice creates an unfair financial burden on patients seeking essential healthcare services. During a recent visit to a local dermatology office, my husband and I both saw the same doctor on the same day with identical $15 copays. I was charged an additional 45-cent credit card surcharge, while my husband was not. This inconsistent application demonstrates the arbitrary nature of these fees and suggests inadequate oversight. Medical care is not optional - patients shouldn't face surprise fees for necessary healthcare Sick patients cannot negotiate payment terms or easily shop around Many patients discover these charges only after trea
Hi! My name is Becky. I am in Florida and I am new here! How is everyone doing?
The tiny font size on these new boards was really bothering me. Until they decide to fix it by default… a simple fix for them btw, but one we may or may not get right now…I wanted to post what worked for me. Click into where you will be typing in the provided blank area… — Click on the box to the left of the B bold button. It will either say “Styles” or “Paragraph”— Chose “Large Heading” — Proceed to type This can also be done after the fact, by highlighting your text to be enlarged, then choosing the large heading option afterwards. When logging into my AARP account, I'm asked to add a phone number to verify identity. But when I enter it, an error appears "Phone number not eligible." This is a Reno, NV number that I've had for many years. There is also an option in Account Details to add a number. Options are "Send me the code by SMS text alert" and "Call me and tell me the code". Guessing that there may be a problem sending an SMS, I try to select the latter, but the web page ignores the click. I tried with both Chrome and Firefox. But upon clicking Next, an error message appears, cleverly designed to have no useful information "Mmmmm... Something wasn't right. Please re-enter your phone number." But there is no field where the number can be entered, and upon clicking Next, the same error reappears. However, I am certain that AARP can send SMS to this number, because I signed up with the same number for text alerts; today at 10:15 PDT I received an SMS from 692277 stating "
Please STOP posting all these OLD topics - let’s just begin anew - many of them are no longer applicable and some are just plain stupid to pull from 4-years or more back.OR at least keep them off the new post index - especially the ones under certain subjects I want to know how much participation is on this board outside of GAMES, SONGS, and REWARDS - by title I can pretty much spot those. Other than participating in some of these never ending type threads, we don’t need the 4-years old post on Medicare or Social Security or other types subjects. Either they have been useful at some time long ago or they haven’t - just let people post new stuff and forget the past ones. These old, old, old post just seem just to be clogging up the new system - How do you know when there has been a reply to something that you posted recently?
I have tried multiple ways of accessing these 3 videos (via the Extra Credit section, the Earn Points section, logging out and then back in, etc) but I keep getting a Bad Request message for all 3. I’m SO tired of setting my alarm for 11P (I’m on CT) the last day of the month just so I can do the Extra Credit quizes & videos so I can purchase or redeem the gift cards that I want/need, and then discovering that some part of the Extra Credit section is not working.
I have tried, but cannot get this to be answered. Terri, please explain what these “Leaderboard Points“ for Posts are for? Do they get added to our Reward points, that we use for Gift cards? Are they supposed to make us feel like we are competing against each other? What are they and Why? please for the love of God, let me ask this and get a public answer so we all can know. please and thank you.
When reading an article sent from AARP I only get part of the article. For instance the article that was sent about 4 medications that can make you tired. I got to the end of number one and then can not go to #2 3 & 4 as they are not shown. This seems to happen with other articles also. How can I see the rest of the articles?
Don’t see a Display setting for how to format thread display to always show recent posts within a given thread. I see you can change a given thread, while in it, but we had a way to change our own displays to always show recent, show a certain number of posts, etc… where can I go to change MY display to always show recent posts first in ALL threads?
Have been a verizon customer for over 32 years and wanted to know what exactly my bill covered and now I have been getting mislead and my original bill keeps going up. Does anyone else have this issue???
I don't mean by sending me driver safety or insurance information. Can AARP show up at a local event or host a local event on the weekend: I still work.Organize a bike ride or hike?Connect through hospitals for informational classes like healthy eating?
Is it just me? When I click on one of the games to earn rewards points, the “play now” button is missing and there’s no way to play the game. It’s happening on multiple games I checked - Hurdle, Sudoku, all the crosswords.

Was reading a discussion thread, and noticed on the right hand side panel of the screen where it said Related Topics, ( or something like that), I saw a few threads I thought I might also like to read. Except when I clicked on the link to the thread, on two of the ones I clicked on, it read that they were closed to replies. So just readable, and not open to reply. I guess archived on this new board, but there was a lot of posts in them. If it’s outdated, not sure why still there, and if relevant, I’m scratching my head as to why no replies allowed.
Hello, Ever since joining AARP and often in spurts - we seem to have experienced a large increase in junk mail via USMail either from AARP and/or from third parties co-branded w/ AARP or otherwise associated with AARP - or maybe AARP shared our contact info. I would like to 100% stop this. No more junk mail offers. No more sharing of our address with 3rd parties. Suggestions on where/how to do this? Thanks,
📸[*** Screenshot Attached](1) I thought the bell with a line through it mean't I would NOT receive an AARP email when people comment AFTER me in a thread? I just received one when Les just commented AFTER me. AARP Teri @AARPTeri , I really have NO "interest" in returning to being "flooded" with notifications I DONOT want.(2) To "clarify" in case my Old Brain is NOT getting this. We can NO longer "subscribe" to forums WE DO WANT AARP emails "informing" us when someone leaves a comment? The ONLY forum I want to know about in case I am NOT on site, is your "Grief & Loss" forum. The rest I will see when I stop by site. With the OLD SITE I had this setup. Is this "option" gone?***I know you are busy & hate to bother you, but really NEED to Know IF I am going to be getting "notifications" after I comment in some "random" thread? Lol, HATE having to "clean out" my email IN BOX. Got it setup to "receive" ONLY what I want. Thanks Teri,Nicole 💛🤗
