i was being overbilled by $10.00 per month. Customer service stated that “only the prepay or the AARP discount can be applied, not both…”From Tracfone’s web site (emphasis mine):“$10/mo discount on Tracfone Home Internet available to active AARP members with valid membership verification. Discount applies to one Tracfone account per AARP membership; multiple Home Internet lines within the same account are eligible. Discount not available at Target and cannot be combined with Target pricing, but may be combined with Auto-Refill discounts. Offer ends if eligibility requirements are not met. Additional terms may apply.”After this was pointed out to the agent he gave me the correct billing amount… but the online system still does not show the discount. I will see if I am billed properly next month. 

Just wanted to share some info I got today.I am shopping for identity theft services. The AARP website advertises LifeLock discounts of "up to 44%". I just got information directly from LifeLock earlier today (September 20, 2026 at about 4pm CDT) and the prices I was quoted reflect only "up to 36% discount" from standard prices. AARP: Please update the website to improve its accuracy of information for other future AARP website users. Still showing 44% is very misleading.Michael L.

Does AARP have inexpensive car insurance?

Hello everyone! I am new to AARP. As I Look through everything it has to offer for me It has become a little overwhelming. I'm planning a vacation to Dollywood Pigeon Forge and would love to hear from anyone who has already taken advantage of all the perk AARP offers. I dont know where to begin looking for discounts, coupons etc. Here on AARP. Any ideas and recommendations would be awesome. 😁 

I have not been able to do anything in AARP rewards. All we get is a message that says "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties in processing your request. Please retry in a few minutes. Thank you for your patience." for several weeks. The resolution we are provided is that someone is "working on it". Planned to buy guftcards for upcoming travel, which seems unlikely at this point.

Never use any OTA, they steal 15 to 50 percent from every booking. The hotel, motel industry would be better and cheaper if you book direct. As The OTas raise the rates so they can get more money from the hotels. In turn the hotels raise rates to compensate for the OTA fees. Always book direct. AARP SHOULD NOT SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS THAT ROB YOU OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

Our AARP United Health supplemental insurance premium has increased 44% since June of 2024.  That is crazy.  Are you doing anything to lobby congress about the cost of health insurance??????

I’ve tried for months to do some of the 1,050 point activities with no luck. I open the page and there’s no link to start or do the activity.  It just says progress 0/10 or something like that but no link anywhere to start doing it. I’ve tried on different devices and no luck. I haven’t done any of these activities already so that isn’t what is preventing it.  What is going on? 

After searching this community, I see that Budget Car Rental has several complaints. Let me just recount ours. After booking and paying for a week's rental through the AARP emailed travel offer, I received an email confirmation of a hybrid Prius model sedan to be picked up from a nearby airport terminal. Thought all was in order.   My call to the office 3 hours prior to pickup revealed that Budget did not have a Prius anywhere in the area. Their replacement was a Chrysler Pacifica gas model -- not what anyone would call a "comparable car." Furthermore, each subsequent emailed confirmation was markedly higher in price than the original agreement. I cancelled the order and took my own car, which is exactly what I had wanted to avoid. My contention is that this is a classic bait-and-switch tactic, but Budget claims it isn't (?). They offered me three days of coupons, but how is this being held accountable? They blatantly did not honor a written contract. I'm also upset

still no reply from aarp with the "escalation" of my inquiry as to why I can redeem points as a new member but cannot redeem.  Might be time to quit.

I have serious concerns about using American Home Shield. We had a problem with our HVAC system that, after a month, has not been fixed. In that time, (1) I was told that the unit is working normally in spite of the fact that it is frozen over and does not work at all, (2) One of the their vendors tried to shake me down on buying a replacement unit -  to replace the one that they reported to AHS as working, (3) AHS then sent me a quote on a new system that they make money and at the same time, they were telling me that my current system works. My view is that they have institutionalized wearing down their customers and trying to squeeze more money out of them rather then performing the service they are supposed to provide. My experience with them is that their vendors are not very good and simply do not care. I have had electricians from AHS that have misdiagnosed a broken light switch as a home wiring issue that would need $1000s to repair. I had a plumber 2 month ago profess to not k

I’m comparing a few options, including Besrey baby carriers, and want to make sure I choose something suitable for everyday use. What features should I pay attention to, such as comfort, support, adjustability, safety, and ease of putting the carrier on and taking it off?

My husband and I got our discount cards and found that the best pricing was with the OptumRx home delivery when we search drug pricing so we clicked the button to signup.  We were able to complete the AARP Verification form and the HealthSafe ID Let's Get Started form as well as the verification codes sent to email and text.  It's the Identification number (AARP member ID) that returns an unable to verify message on the HealthSafe ID pages.  I verified that my name, birthdate and AARP member ID on the HeatthSafe ID form matches my AARP account.  If I skip the verification, I get a different form that still will not accept my AARP member number as the identification number.  I have no access to order an OptumRX home delivery.  I received no help when I called the phone number for setting up home delivery either.  Do members have this benefit or not?

 HelloI read in one of the AARP Papers about a Low Milage Plan for people that drive a few miles a week etc.Where you pay a Fee and then only pay for the milage you drive. Has anyone seen or applied for this. ThanksKen 

I am an AARP member wanting to use the AARP discount available on ThriftBooks. Per ThriftBooks blog November 2025, I would verify membership by keying AARP member number in given link and receive a promo discount code to use at checkout. The link did not provide a way to verify membership. I contacted ThriftBooks customer service who suggested:“I'd recommend reaching out to AARP directly to inquire about their partnership with ThriftBooks and how to obtain your member discount code. They should be able to provide you with a code that you can apply at checkout. “ Can you help please? 

Here's how I successfully resolved the interrelated problem with The Hartford raising the insurance premium dramatically for my auto insurance even though I have an excellent driving history, and AARP acting helpless to leverage the matter with its business partner (i.e., The Hartford) ... I recently dropped The Hartford at renewal time in favor of a different carrier (Progressive) and, in the process, save substantial money. I subsequently called AARP and cancelled my membership and will be receiving a prorated refund of my five-year membership payment (more savings for me). If more people took this approach and there was a decrease in membership, perhaps AARP leadership would redirect its energies to be more member centric? It seems that AARP has lost its way helping members in favor of income from royalties paid by business partnerships. 

I choose AVIS car rental because of the benefits that AARP offered.   It was a nightmare experience to say the least.  I picked up a car at the Philadelphia airport and drove to New York.  A relative of mine noticed that the vehicle inspection had expired making the vehicle illegal to drive. The only place to exchange it was 120 miles away to get the same type of vehicle (larger SUV).  So we had to drive illegally to exchange the vehicle and lost 2 days of driving as we had events going on locally and had to car pool with others.  We reported it to AVIS and basically was told that we were out of luck and that they would only look to re-imburse us for gas or lost time with vehicle if we had a Wizard number at the time of rental?  If AARP is going to partner with such companies they need to make sure they inspect there vehicles.  

If I already have an existing membership and it is due to renew, can I use the AARP Discount on my existing membership or will I need to cancel it and start a new membership to et the 40% off?thank you for your help!

  I got the new AARP Prescription Discount Card and went to use it at CVS. After CVS gave me the AARP/Optum price ($36), I asked what the GoodRX price was since I had that   on my account. GOODRX was $18. HALF the price. So if I didn't ask, I would be out $18. BEWARE  

The Denny's at 18875 S I-19 Frontage Rd in Green Valley, AZ, came under new management and has stopped honoring AARP and military discounts.  Green Valley, AZ is a town of over 20,000 full time residents that swells to 40,000 during winter months.  It does not make business sense to me that they would want to alienate that many people who have time for a sit down breakfast during the week.

I just contacted Walmart which has stated there is no AARP $40 discount off Walmart+ $98 annual membership fee. 

AARP should do better on Benefits & Discounts.  They are not worth that much.

We printed the Mai Tai (Westmont, IL) discount coupon offering a BOGO entree, enjoyed dinner an hour later and when settling up, were informed that the AARP/Entertainment coupons were not being honored as the restaurant was under new management.  It was an unexpected surprise.  That coupon should be pulled off the AARP site.  Management acknowledged that other patrons had asked to redeem the same coupon.  I attempted to report it to AARP under scams and fraud, but apparently this forum is the only platform to make this known. Going forward, we will be inquiring about coupon validity BEFORE placing our orders.
