When AARP sent a letter to rejoin for a year the free welcome back gift was a free insulated trunk organizer . I am being told I’m getting something different . That is false advertising! You advertised the trunk organizer and that is what I want and should be getting. I should have known better because this happened the last time we joined . I would rather be reimbursed my $15.00 for rejoining since you lied about the welcome back gift.
I keep getting mail asking why I haven't joined and why am I ignoring the notices, well lets see maybe because I am a paid member until 2030! Why are you wasting sending me this cr*p when it could be put to better use somewhere else. Getting real tired of it especially since I called awhile back and spoke to someone about it and they said they will take care of it. If this continues I will never give AARP another nickel to watch it be wasted.
I just received a new membership card from you (I don't know why), and I notice that the format of my name appears changed. Instead of First I. Last, it now appears as Mx. First Last, where Mx is the traditional Mr./Ms. title prefix. In this time of increasing gender fluidity, I don't want any gendered prefix or title used with my name. (Not to mention prefixes based on marital status.) And this change in the card violates the policy I just read in your help here, where it explicitly states that only the title Dr. is ever used on membership cards. So I'll keep using my existing card, thank you. And I ask that you reconsider forcing old-fashioned gender-based titles on unwilling members. Evolve forward, not back.
Hi Sandy,I just added my wife to my account as a household member. The instructions say that she will receive an email that she should use to create her own account. She has not received the email. I double checked her email address and there is no aarp emails in her spam or elsewhere. I do not want to create an account from her by registering on the main page in case this doesn't connect us. Could you please let me know if she will eventually receive an email eventually [aarp may not work weekends - 🙂 ] or if she should just create her own account. Is there any difference if it is linked to our membership, though? Thanks.Dan
Hi, I would like to join for one year without auto-renew. I do not want my credit card information saved or to have to cancel the membership in a year. I am comparing AARP to AMAC and so far AMAC allowed me to sign up without auto-renew or saving my credit card information. Is there a link that you could provide that allows me to sign up for one year? Thanks
The discussion board, “ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY”, has seemed to disappear without warning from AARP. In the past, removal of discussion boards were announced, and reasonable points were forthcoming as to the purpose of the removal. But here, we just have a disappearance. Do any of you out there have any idea why “ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY” disappeared?
I just received an envelope from AARP with a bold red statement stating STATEMENT ENCLOSED. Along, with MEMBER: Your new AARP card is enclosed. To activate, please return your statement. Not only is all of that telling someone I have AARP and my card is there, the card is completely showing through a window with my name, membership #, and Valued Member Since year. So now someone has the information of my address, name, card #, how long I been a member, and that this is a billing statement and they don't even have to open the envelope! Is there any other information that you want to give them?!! If it didn't show the correct membership # I would have thought it was a scam. I am not happy about all that could have been shared with someone. Since AARP is always doing articles on privacy and security, I am shocked by this.
I KEEP GETTING "BAD REQUEST". FIX IT, PLEASE! THANK YOU!
Just got a renewal notice via email but it is confusing me. Near the beginning of the message it states "...automatically renew and unless you contact AARP to cancel before your next payment date of March 12, 2025, your Credit Card will be charged $20 for your next 24 months of membership" Then further down the message it says "NOTE: Your membership will continue to renew, and unless you contact AARP to cancel before March 12, 2026, your Credit Card ending in **** will be charged $20 for your next 12 months of membership. Your membership will continue to renew for successive one-year terms until canceled. So am I renewing for 12 months or 24 months?
Several years ago, as I recall, I paid for a "lifetime membership" to AARP. It was, I believe, $100. Now I keep getting renewal notices and reminders. I just did a renewal, just to be safe, for an annual membership. But I'd like to know what happened to my "lifetime" membership?
I just joined through the 5-year, $11/year special offer. One of the benefits is that my partner gets a membership too. How does that work? How can he get his membership card and benefits. Thanks.
Years ago, I pointed this out to you. I think I will finally no longer renew. Most of us know to take off our address so our trash is not otherwise identifiable. But it is inconvenient to page through looking for those type-appearance boxes that have advertisements that are addressed to me by name. Does that advertisement pay you better? I wish the advertiser understood I would never use them. Please stop it. You are putting those of us with unique first names at risk. Or you lose one membership.
To whom it May concern,, The last addition of the magazine and bulletin that I have received electronically was in late November. Why? Also I'm concerned that I'm not able to communicate via email an issue like this. I don't have time to chat during business hours or making calls. Keith Ross
I recently canceled my membership, but then decided to renew it. However, I noticed that I was charged both $20 and $15, resulting in two charges. I should have only been charged $15 for the renewal. I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. If I don’t receive a response or resolution by Monday, I will contact support directly. Thank you for your attention to this matter. photo of double charge :
Why does membership for those living internationally cost three times the discounted domestic rate when we literally don't qualify for any of the offers you provide? I like the information you provide but I don't see any value for me if I have to pay so much for so little besides information.
tried to renew my membership today for one year only, but I was billed for five for $79!
I signed up for Automatic Renewal back in October 2024. I just received a Renewal Statement in the mail telling me to select a payment option and send in a check for my renewal expiring in April 2025. I logged into my account, but I cannot find any indication that I have Automatic Renewal, and when I hit the Renew button at the top of the web page, all I get is "HTTP ERROR 431". I saved a copy of my Automatic Renewal Terms showing that I have authorized charges in April 2025 and 2026 for my AARP Membership Dues. Please confirm if I do have Automatic Renewal on my account. Year after year AARP starts pestering me about renewing my account long before its renewal date. I finally give in and renew it well in advance of the renewal date. However, that doesn't seem to mean much. Here it is, long after I renewed and I receive the magazine with a "Final Issue" notice unless I renew before membership expires. From now on I'll wait until the last possible day before renewing because it doesn't seem to make a difference.
I renewed late last year for a 5 year renewal. I expected to receive a trunk organizer, I received an organizer, but it wasn't a trunk organizer. I have no use for the organizer. I wanted the trunk organizer for a specific use. I even signed up for 5 years.
