Same guidelines as the original forum.The only difference is this is for oldies.I am setting the following rule:No songs beyond 1975 I'll start with a classic: When A Man Loves A Woman:  Percy Sledge I'm Amending this forum to allow the use of songs up to and including 1975  

OkayThis is meant to be a long running topic .  The rules are simple and there are a zillion songs out there, so lets see what we can do with this.You start with a song title.  Let's use  Love in an Elevator - AerosmithYou look at that title, pick out one word from it and find a new song title with that word in it,( example, In & Out of Love - Bon Jovi)  then post the new title as your post.  The next person follows.   See easySo lets give it a try.    My title is   Love in an Elevator - Aerosmith.Diane  

 Not sure if this has been done before (got tired of searching after 20 or 30 pages and search function doesn't always provide expected results).  List a song title with it's group/singer alphabetically. A - Z and start over. I think there should be a song somewhere for every letter. Any year is acceptable. Double postings are ok. Starting off with:    A Hard Day's Night  - Beatles   For the letters Q, X and Z:   When those letters come up, you may skip them and post the next letter. Or, you can post a Q, X or Z and post the next letter if you wish. Either choice is fine.

   How about another game? We can even use the songs we use in the ABC's game.  The last letter of the last posted song will be the first letter of the next song. Reply to the start post of the thread.   If someone posts the same " first lettered" song at the same time, no problem.   No need to correct anyone.   Simply, use whatever the last letter of that posted song to post your title. Have Fun!

The Demon of UnawarenessWhile I was waiting to have my bi-weekly blood drawn at the diagnostic lab, I saw for the first time two framed photographic copies of Oahu mountain ridges on the wall to my left.  One of these renditions was realistic; the other one was surrealistic. Regardless of how I related to them, what struck me the most was that I had never noticed the landscapes until today. What a revelation! Most of the time, I pride myself on how much I enjoy art in all of its incarnations, whether it be displayed in a museum or a flea market.From now on, I will prod myself to be more observant of my environment. Who knows what  ah-ah moments that I might appreciate, if not revel in. Despite the horror of it all, I envy Linda Blair’s uncanny ability to simultaneously have grisly 360 degree perspectives at the end of The Exorcist. Or, to be less graphic, you can’t be a fly on the wall unless you can see the wall.

 I looked this topic up and the thread was closed to replies. I thought to reinstate the thread and might have a chance for posting on a new thread with this new board. Any song about being old, getting old or youth is wasted (lol). Have fun!

  Change a letter or a word in a song title to make it funny (not dirty).Type the correct title, then your funny one. I got the idea for this game after seeing some of my typos while entering song titles.  Will start with Fields of Gold - Sting Fields of Golf

I am a guitarist and have several guitars. What guitar do you think is the best guitar for playing all forms or styles of music?

I was born and raised. That much is documented; the rest is interpretation and hearsay. Though I wandered, I ultimately returned to the Ozarks to create art and music. Sometimes these hills lend me a hand, and sometimes I tell them stories. Today, I’m a songwriter, producer, and visual artist based near Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

Were you there? Or, maybe you just experienced the spirit from afar. Share your stories of what you remember and how the festival affected you.

It looks like we need a new topic. So, I saw this elsewhere on the internet, and thought we might want to try it out here. You take two song titles with a common word or words, and then link them together to create a new title. For example: Band on the Run by Wings + Run Through the Jungle by CCR = Band on the Run Through the Jungle It’s okay to “recycle” or “reprise” song titles in various combinations. 

For many an original song that they love cannot and will not ever be duplicated by a cover, but there are many songs that have been done equally (debatebly) well by others..So do you have favorites? What are your favorite covers of favorite songs?  

Anyone on the Music thread seeing this?  Went into a song title game thread, sorted by new on the thread and getting old posts.  Tried several threads.

Tried to play a rock n roll game post now with new board and sorting the thread to newest doesn’t work

The subject of instrumentals came up in another thread, so I thought it might be fun to see what instrumental tunes everyone enjoys. Instrumentals cover a wide range of genres when you start to think about it; classical (of course), movie soundtracks, pop, jazz, big band oldies, blues, country, rock, and many instrumental versions of your favorite song titles, too. So what instrumental music do you like? What are your favorite tunes or instrumental versions of your favorite songs? Multiple tunes and multiple genres are okay. And, if you have favorite on youtube, feel free to post the link so that we can listen, too!

I love rock and I love classical music. There are many rock versions of classical music. Many different bands have done the same piece. So, what are some of your favorites? I have tons, but here are a few. 1. Titles to numerous to mention -- Trans-Siberian Orchestra2. It was probably in 2019 that I posted a link under “Old People Dancing” to the first video below. Well, Swing and ChaCha with Angie Major, recorded February 10, 2024, have been added to my YouTube account.
