Hello everyone! I recently started using an online compass that works with my device’s GPS location, and I’d love to hear others' thoughts or suggestions on how to make the most out of it.This online compass is a tool, not an app, and it’s accessible directly through my browser, which I find really convenient. The best part is that it uses my device’s GPS to provide directions and orient me, which is especially useful when I’m exploring new places or navigating unfamiliar areas. I find it to be quite accurate when I'm outdoors, but I’ve had some issues with it inside or in places with poor GPS reception. The compass can become a bit less reliable when the signal is weak, which I find a little frustrating.One thing I’ve noticed is that it’s just a basic compass and doesn't provide much more than directional information. For years previous to joining AARP and getting a discount with Budget, I used them for car rentals in Az, Co, and NM. I never had any issues and the price was right. But in the last 5 years there are nothing but problems they never take responsibility for. The worst was when they'd started running renters' drivers licenses through a scanner and if it didn't pass, the rental wouldn't be offered. Mine didn't pass, but in asking what could be wrong they had no answer. I hadn't gotten a ticket/ infraction in years nor have I ever been arrested. It wasn't about credit. I tried calling customer service etc., but no one could tell me what specifically was wrong. I got robotic answers. Thankfully I was able to get a car from Enterprise the same day with no problems. Currently I'm curious about Budget's prices on a rental this summer so I tried their page and it's not accepting my AARP membership number for the discount. Recently rented a car at the roanoke airport.   There was some mud on the driver's side floor mat when the car was returned.  Nothing else of note in the car or on the outside of the car regarding cleanliness or condition.  Just received a notice that they are charging $250 to my credit card for 'excessive cleaning' fees.   Of course we are helpless to try to fight this.  Did not think to take photos of the inside / outside of the car upon return.  This is a scam and this company should have a class action lawsuit filed against this.   They are apparently using this scam as a profit center.  Shame on you and again,,  DON'T USE THIS COMPANY (or Avis)  there are plenty of other companies to use out there that are not dishonest.  

Well, it appears that AARP has discontinued the Carnival gift card.  First the discount dropped and now it appears they are gone.  What I would like to know is this a decision of AARP or Carnival?  Since there appears to be conflicting stories on who determines the gift card discounts, we the member do not know who to believe.

So, I received a Happy Birthday spin. I did the spin, won some more points and then scrolled down. There was a gift card option, but it is clear across the darn state! Why can you make sure when doing something like this, that it is near where a person lives. Out of the other options that were given, they really didn't pertain to anything I was interested in. I’m so disheartened by all the chat about British Airways and AARP. You truly cannot get anyone to help with booking a reservation. I took the advice of someone who used their phone and got to the point of paying for a flight only to have the system spin and spin. Then I would get a message to contact British Airways for assistance. Of course, they can’t help you because you have to book it online. So then they had me call American Airlines to ask them if they can help because it’s a one world partnership website. American Airlines has no control over British Airways. So I called AARP and they were sure that I should call British Airways. When I explained that British Airways would not be able to help me, They said no problem we found someone who can help you and subsequently forwarded me to the main customer service line at British Airways. I it is now simply the principle of the fact that I should be able to save $1000 on my flight. I have pictures of all the rates and the quote

Why does AARP endorse Delta dental?  All you have to do is google"is Delta Dental any good? " and you will see numerous negative reviews from many reliable sources.  People have come to expect reliable services from AARP partnerships, but Delta Dental has not one good review on Google from anyone or a business.  They are the most expensive with the poorest benefits.  Customer service?  They have no idea what that is.  I can only think that part of the premiums I pay Delta Dental, AARP is receiving a portion of it for their endorsement.  AARP Delta Dental?  A real travesty.

 I am 73 and was paying $80 a month to use a Lifetime membership any time of the day, and now I found out that, effective 2/1/2025, my plan was canceled.  No notice, I found out when I went to the club.United did not even give me a choice to pay an enhanced fee to cover Lifetime and if I stay at Lifetime, my membership fee will go up to around $250 a month.  This is on top of me loosing my Stretch Lab membership and YMCA.

I see that AARP has a new CEO.   I am pleading that the website gets fixed. The experiencing technical issues has been posted for way too long.  There are bad links, wrong dates on transaction history, earn weekly not resetting, promo codes not found, and many others.  I am afraid you are going to have many more requesting to delete their membership.

Hard ford Insurance does not care about AARP at all. They are the worse insurance company I have ever dealt with.They canceled my home policy without even telling me. No one should use them .ever!!!?!?

Has anyone else been concerned about the closing of our current AARP credit cards and its effect on our credit scores? We've had our VISA for many years and have built a lot of history with them. Now AARP is going to CLOSE those accounts and replace them with a new one that won't have any history. Just closing the account will lower our scores significantly. We, for one, don't want to use the Barclay cards, which offer significantly less rewards, so the total amount of our credit will be reduced, another factor in the building of our credit scores. What do you think? POST-  Postscript 09-21-21: To head off what I was sure would be a catastrophe, and after looking up references on Barclay, we created a new Chase CC account (on August 12th, received it on the 15th), set up our auto-pay bills, and set up the new account for auto-pay from our bank.  I recently tried to use the AARP Optum Discount Drug card, to pay for 6 boxes of generic prescription lidocaine patches. I have been following the cost of the patches on the AARP Optum Rx website since last August, and the site has consistently shown a cost of $179 for the 6 boxes at Walgreens, and $451 at most other pharmacies, including CVS. I went to fill my prescription at Walgreens a week ago, and I showed them the $179 cost listing from the website, along with all the other information they needed to check the cost for this discount card. The cost their computer showed for Walgreens using the card - $451. This is no discount at all. So disappointing. when I called Optum Rx, they said the costs shown on their website are just estimates. They aren't kidding.But this story has a happy ending - I was able to use the Good Rx discount card at CVS, and got the 6 boxes for $181.  I transferred my Rx coverage to this plan. They would not refill my prescription without preauthorization!  Why would a person in the Philippines who can only read a script, cannot answer a question work for AARP or UHC.

AARP should bring back Carnival Gift cards Like they did before. That is the main reason I joined AARP.I wont be renewing my membership after this one expires. Plus, I know many others who will not be renewing for the same reason. Sorry

I booked a rental car from AVIS thru AARP Travel Center/Expedia.  In the process there was a place to check off for "Collusion Damage Plan".  I checked this item thinking it was a Collision Damage Waiver offered by Avis. After completing the reservation I found out from subsequent E-mails that this was actually a third party Travel Insurance Policy.  Third party travel insurance for rental car damage is of no use or value to me, since I already have coverage with my regular auto insurance.  In case something happens, the rental companies don't care what coverage you have - they just put a big hold on your credit card.  This travel insurance is just more insurance that the rental company will ignore.  AARP should be ashamed to be involved in such deceptive practices and not disclosing what it really is that they are offering. As of today, the AARP discount on Carnival gift cards has gone from 10% to only 8%. I am just trying to find out WHO made this decision. Was it AARP or Carnival? I called and got a horrible word salad answer from the rep at AARP who talked about "market conditions, yada yada" but no real answer to this basic question. 

Your email this morning has promoted an AARP program for Optum Rx. Reconsider and do not align. Instead, try working to eliminate PBMs.

What is AARP doing to reduce the denial claims %.  I understand that AARP is selling United Healthcare plans and making considerable $ doing this.  If AARP is focused on improving seniors lives, let’s start internally.After the claims were made, AARP has not responded. Consumer cellular offers a special unlimited data plan to AARP members - $55 for two lines.Unfortunately my wife succumbed to cancer in 2023 and I only need one line of service now being alone.  I sent a message to Consumer Cellular, and I actually received a callback; however, the gentleman who called could only tell me that is the way the plan is setup and there wasn't anything that could be done.  I know that AARP has significant influence with Consumer Cellular and ask that they please reach out to Consumer Cellular and ask them to offer a special unlimited data plan to AARP members who like me have lost their spouse, life partner or otherwise single.  Thank you.

I went to Del Amo mall in Torrance and decided to surprise my husband with some Cinnabons and I was told that the owner does not honor the AARP discount. I was disappointed to find this out, shouldn’t all Cinnabon retailers honor the discount if that’s what you advertise?

I finally was able to get back into the rewards area after the system was down, but now I cannot find the Carnival Gift Cards. Were they Discontinued?? If so that terrible!!:( if not can you tell where I can find them? Thank you
