AARP Help

For every notification I click for AARP, I probably wait for it to open 1 out of 10 times. I like ths app and content. It just opens so slowly. Apologies if i should be leaving feedback elsewhere.   

SO FRUSTRATED! I've had AARP Hartford for my auto insurance for years - no problem. I was under contract to buy a new home and needed a homeowner policy - which they added and bundled - still no problem. Both accounts showed up in my portal. The home purchase blew up so it was cancelled. Went under contract on another home and contacted them to set me up with a policy for that property. In order for me to set up an account with them online I needed to do so with a DIFFERENT Email because they could no longer merge them into one online account. Around and around I went with 5 different people. I am still employed as an IT professional - quite versed in the technical aspects of what they were talking about -- and still got nowhere. The last person I spoke with agreed with me and said she was sorry -- I told her "You're telling me that some senior citizen who has one email address now has to create another one (if they even know how to) in order to make your system work for them

Received this multi-port charger for renewal gift. Item began to sizzle and burn giving off a toxic smell. Please warn others of the possibility of the danger it may pose. 

I received a thick envelope today from AARP.  Leafing through the contents, I came to the conclusion that AARP is nothing other than a conduit for advertising.  In the envelope were ads for: Consumer CellularWyndhamEyeMedValvolineWalgreensThe HartfordDelta Dental These contents about filled my trash can. What a waste of paper, what damage to the environment, and what a pointless waste of my time. Shouldn't AARP concentrate on representing its constituents rather than being a SHILL for other companies? I think so. What do you think??????  

I installed the app so that I could play games more easily than through the browser. When I went to start a crossword puzzle, I had no keyboard. When I turned it to the side, the screen didn't orient itself. Why can't I access the keyboard?

I recently went to a Social Security seminar on Zoom put on by AARP. My questions were not answered but they said to go to answers.aarp.org. I cannot get this to come up in AARP website or on the internet. Does anyone know where i find this? 

When I went to change my community username, I got an error message "Something went wrong, please try again later". However, when returning to may account page, it had the new community username. When I click the link "Community Profile" it takes me to a page with an error "An Unexpected Error has occurred"Is the Community Profile currently down, or have I messed something up?

Received a flyer in the mail concerning Hartford Insur. So, I think I have not quoted my Auto Insurin a few years. Time to do it. Now on the front of the flyer it listed four insur co's., that people say hartford is less for each amt., by the co's. I looked at that as B.S. out of the gate. Like a Liberty Mutual ad. So I have my policy in front of me with my insurance co and I call. She ask basic question then she asked if I would like to be monitored for my driving habits and over time your insurance can go down if your habits are law abiding. I laughed. First, I don't look for anyone to control my life or monitor me; Secondly, that's Orwellian. Not interested and that should be illegal. Not getting off to a good start. So, she finishes. I have paid in full 2017 Toyota Avalon and a 2023 Toyota Camry TRD. Our driving record is impecable, and we are both retired and luck if we put 14K miles/yr  on the cars total.  Where are kroger and albertson's discounted gift cards?This is not a rhetorical question. Is profit for share holders and c-level executives so much more important than good will?We should concur that store level employees are significantly underpaid and devalued.  Why did kroger and albertson's stop offering discounted e-gift cards to aarp members? We should all demand an answer from each grocer.   

Hello! Since the most recent big "remodel" of the Rewards earning activities pages, I have noticed that there are almost 20 of the videos that either do not load, load on a Spanish-language page (and for some reason do not then grant points), are unclickable, are not marked as "checked off" in the list after I've completed them, or simply do award points upon completion for some unknown reason. They seem to have been loaded incorrectly. Thanks!

I just had an extremely frustrating conversation with an agent from AARP--whose name I couldnt understand and I wound up hanging up after 20 minutes.I had called a local Theatre to make reservations for a play:  Gateway Playhouse in Bellport New York.   The person on the phone at Gateway told me that I can get discount tickets through my AARP Membership.  But I need the CODE.I tried to explain this to the AARP agent.   She kept asking me if the person at the Playhouse told me the Code.   I said he didnt.  He told me I have to get it from AARP.  If he had told me the Code, I wouldnt have had to call AARP.She looked it up and said that Gateway Playhouse wasn't coming up. She said she would ask someone else.  We went round and round!    I waited on the phone for 20 minutes and then finally asked her if someone from AARP could call me back.  She said they dont do that.  I am at a loss here.    Can any

I signed up for this course a couple weeks ago. Paid around $25 for it for my insurance company. It said the course met the requirements for my specific state. I would say that is accurate to the point in all honesty that maybe 10% meets the requirements and that could leave it at that. The other 90% is just nauseating. Worse than watching paint dry. On and on and on about physiology and everything under the sun that could be associated with driving in an 8th cousin, 50 times removed sort of way. It's been 2 weeks since I started the course. I have the patience of a snail but I just cannot handle this and just petering my way on through it. It is decent information but just does not belong. Did you know the first electric stoplight was installed in Cleveland in 1914? Road markers were used as far back as 250BC by the Romans. Okay for Trivial Pursuit but I don't care!  If you must take a course for insurance, find another one

What is AARP doing now to protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and retirement accounts? I see nothing at all about that in the latest magazine. This seems like a very timely topic, no?

Hello - when I signed up as a paid member last year I added a family member for the free 2nd member- her Community Username on here is  " RubyB124195 "     Well she has alerted me that for well over a week now she has been unable to redeem points to play the Instant Win games as well as enter sweepstakes and redeem for gift cards or other  and it appears to be a glitch at the AARP end because she showed me on my computer how she keeps getting the same error message when she attempts these things but yet, I am able to do these things in my account (using the same computer)   the error message that shows is "Oops! An error occurred. Please refresh your browser to get back on track."and it just goes on and on....   I have no problem in my account redeeming pointsCan someone please look into this?  I would appreciate it very much.   I have also told her to remove the complaint she left in the community forum and she assures m

When I try to get into the Split Words game in Staying Sharp, I keep getting a message to sign in or sign up. I am already signed in and my membership is good until the end of June. I suspect this is a part of AARP's effort to get everyone re-upping their subscription early and switching to automatic renewal, which I find discouraging. Interestingly, I was able to get into some of the other Staying Sharp games without a problem.  Can someone please resolve the problem of accessing the Split Words game on Staying Sharp?

AARP I do not need notices from an organization like this to get through each and every single day. All that stuff should just be compiled into a newsletter and sent out weekly. And this was the only way I could find to actually just send a message to this organization. No email No just send us a comment fill in this box I don't want to call and and have some operator who probably doesn't even record what I'm telling them to pass on to management they just try to explain the benefits of the way they are doing it. That's what's wrong with organizations and companies today Yeah they tell you lots of stuff they put up lots of web content or app content so you can read all the stuff you want but they don't leave any room for a way for you to just send them a simple message about a simple problem and I don't want to be calling and having to navigate and tell some operator something they're not going to understand they're not going to be writing down This is why I no
