INBOX is a joke! Just another monet grab!
Is there a link to all the online Table of Contents or lists of articles of the last year or several years of AARP Bulletins and Magazines? I found the webpages for the AARP Bulletins and another one for the Magazines, but I don't want to have to open each edition and look for the Table of Contents page individually. A searchable Table of Contents would be great! I have tried searching by separate topics on the overall AARP website, but that doesn't seem to always turn up Bulletin or Magazine articles.Thank you!
Has anyone considered the chance of double taxation for retirees if income tax is replaced with a sales tax, VAT tax, or even tariffs. Most retirees have saved after tax dollars to a large degree, some cash, some Roths, and maybe some other methods. I have not read any articles on the ramifications to retirees. I am worried that the post income tax dollars we saved will be taxed again. This is something that needs to be watched and addressed. A change to national sales tax or similar tax without adjustments for after tax dollars means we will pay tax again on our savings. the only savings that won't be hit would be pretax savings. With the new administration this change could happen fast so please start writing your congress person now. The last flat tax bill presented suggest a percentage to cover income tax and FICA. Will the next one be similar? If so, haven't we already paid a lifetime of FICA? And haven't most retirees already paid income tax on earned money? I hope AARP can publi
Hard ford Insurance does not care about AARP at all. They are the worse insurance company I have ever dealt with. They canceled my home policy without even telling me. No one should use them .ever!!!?!?
Has anyone else been concerned about the closing of our current AARP credit cards and its effect on our credit scores? We've had our VISA for many years and have built a lot of history with them. Now AARP is going to CLOSE those accounts and replace them with a new one that won't have any history. Just closing the account will lower our scores significantly. We, for one, don't want to use the Barclay cards, which offer significantly less rewards, so the total amount of our credit will be reduced, another factor in the building of our credit scores. What do you think? POST- Postscript 09-21-21: To head off what I was sure would be a catastrophe, and after looking up references on Barclay, we created a new Chase CC account (on August 12th, received it on the 15th), set up our auto-pay bills, and set up the new account for auto-pay from our bank. We paid off the balance on the old AARP account by 09-08-21, and cashed in all our rewards. Then today, we activated the Barclay
I signed up for Automatic Renewal back in October 2024. I just received a Renewal Statement in the mail telling me to select a payment option and send in a check for my renewal expiring in April 2025. I logged into my account, but I cannot find any indication that I have Automatic Renewal, and when I hit the Renew button at the top of the web page, all I get is "HTTP ERROR 431". I saved a copy of my Automatic Renewal Terms showing that I have authorized charges in April 2025 and 2026 for my AARP Membership Dues. Please confirm if I do have Automatic Renewal on my account. I recently tried to use the AARP Optum Discount Drug card, to pay for 6 boxes of generic prescription lidocaine patches. I have been following the cost of the patches on the AARP Optum Rx website since last August, and the site has consistently shown a cost of $179 for the 6 boxes at Walgreens, and $451 at most other pharmacies, including CVS. I went to fill my prescription at Walgreens a week ago, and I showed them the $179 cost listing from the website, along with all the other information they needed to check the cost for this discount card. The cost their computer showed for Walgreens using the card - $451. This is no discount at all. So disappointing. when I called Optum Rx, they said the costs shown on their website are just estimates. They aren't kidding. But this story has a happy ending - I was able to use the Good Rx discount card at CVS, and got the 6 boxes for $181. Thanx Good Rx!Buyer Beware - be careful using the AARP Optum Rx card.
While off island our fridge broke down. In a panic I called Sears to inquire about their Protect Plan. I was assured that if I got it, I'd have 30 days to cancel without penalty. I got it and the repair man said our fridge wasn't fixable so I paid Sears the $124.00 for that and called and cancelled the Warranty. It was in June 2024. The hard sales woman would not let me off the phone! She kept going on with her spiel until I shouted I just wanted in cancelled. I made it very clear. She said it was cancelled and I verified several times because I am always worried about things like this. Yesterday I noticed a Sears credit card charge on my statement. I get online statements which I will change now. She never cancelled it and the amount I've paid to date is $402.22 plus the $124.36 for not having a plan. After two days trying to find an account of mine online and getting a "you don't have an account" message when I put in my email and try to
Year after year AARP starts pestering me about renewing my account long before its renewal date. I finally give in and renew it well in advance of the renewal date. However, that doesn't seem to mean much. Here it is, long after I renewed and I receive the magazine with a "Final Issue" notice unless I renew before membership expires. From now on I'll wait until the last possible day before renewing because it doesn't seem to make a difference.
I have just renewed my membership and was shocked that I was sent 3 reminder and 1 receipt letter each containing 2 plastic membership cards. What a waste of money for aarp and huge addition to the plastic pollution problem. 8 extra plastic cards to how many thousands of members and potential members? Shame on you! The cards are rarely removed from the wallet and could easily be paper. Please consider printed paper cards if you must have them at all. Robin North
I have attempted to post on the main AARP page and have been blocked. The website keeps booting me out and back to the log-in page. Many of my other recent posts have been totally removed as well with no reason. I have followed the requirements on posts and still get removed with no reason or notification.
I renewed late last year for a 5 year renewal. I expected to receive a trunk organizer, I received an organizer, but it wasn't a trunk organizer. I have no use for the organizer. I wanted the trunk organizer for a specific use. I even signed up for 5 years.
Seen while going through some posts, it appears to be a padlock on a triangle attached to an occasional post.

I got a new card but the name is written DENA Avery. My name is DONA.
Someone recommended "Good Rx" as a program for reduced-cost medications. More recently, someone else was recommending "Clever RX". Are these programs legit? Apparently they work in lieu of your regular drug insurance. They claim to reduce drug costs dramatically. What's the catch?Do they only work for an initial period and terminate if you are using the medication regularly? How are they able to achieve savings that the regular drug insurance companies cannot? Are they paying the insurance advisors/agents to promote them? If so, can we still trust the advice of the insurance advisors/agents?It would be nice to see an article about these programs in the AARP publication. If it is there, I haven't been able to find it.
I am still unable to redeem the $5 ULTA gift card. I click on the card, but there is nowhere to complete the redemption. It is a member only redemption and I am a member. And I also have the necessary points to redeem. This is getting very frustrating.
I transferred my Rx coverage to this plan. They would not refill my prescription without preauthorization! Why would a person in the Philippines who can only read a script, cannot answer a question work for AARP or UHC.
When I logged into the AARP website and got into the * AARP REWARDS tab, the You have MAXed out fo the day appeared and I am not able to watch any videos for Rewards or Claim any rewards because it claims that I am MAXed out for the Day. I have already cleared history and cache. Thanks.
Hi, new here and started playing family feud and I my opponent had a nice avatar. How do I make one, please?
Hi everyone,I’m reaching out to this community for guidance regarding a financial matter involving benefits left by my late grandfather. (I didnt know where to post this so please forgive me!). He passed away in 2011, and I recently discovered that there may be $5,000 in benefits available through his insurance. I’ve been told that in Connecticut, claims like this do not expire, which gives me hope that I can still access these funds.Context: -My grandfather passed away in 2010, leaving behind an insurance policy with potential benefits that were never claimed.-I live in Connecticut, where I understand that insurance claims don’t have a strict expiration date, but I’m unsure about the specific process or challenges I might face in filing a claim after so much time has passed.-I’m currently in a transitional period, moving out of a difficult living situation, and this $5,000 could provide a significant boost in helping me establish stability.my questions- Has anyone dealt with clai
AARP should bring back Carnival Gift cards Like they did before. That is the main reason I joined AARP.I wont be renewing my membership after this one expires. Plus, I know many others who will not be renewing for the same reason. Sorry
I can't find any?
I booked a rental car from AVIS thru AARP Travel Center/Expedia. In the process there was a place to check off for "Collusion Damage Plan". I checked this item thinking it was a Collision Damage Waiver offered by Avis. After completing the reservation I found out from subsequent E-mails that this was actually a third party Travel Insurance Policy. Third party travel insurance for rental car damage is of no use or value to me, since I already have coverage with my regular auto insurance. In case something happens, the rental companies don't care what coverage you have - they just put a big hold on your credit card. This travel insurance is just more insurance that the rental company will ignore. AARP should be ashamed to be involved in such deceptive practices and not disclosing what it really is that they are offering. AARP is just like all the other scammers trying to take advantage of seniors. I did find a link that supposedly allows me to ca
As of today, the AARP discount on Carnival gift cards has gone from 10% to only 8%. I am just trying to find out WHO made this decision. Was it AARP or Carnival? I called and got a horrible word salad answer from the rep at AARP who talked about "market conditions, yada yada" but no real answer to this basic question.
