AARP Help

Is there any special membership rate for seniors over 100 years old - I am my siblings have memberships, but our mom doesn’t and I am wondering if it would be worth her while on her extremely tight budget.

Does AARP have inexpensive car insurance?

The Quality Inn Ocean City MD that AARP recommended was the worst hotel stay I have ever stayed at. The room was very unsanitary. There was ¼ inch thick layer of filth on the air vents. Mold in the upper right corner, along the bathroom tub, along the floor, in the sink, the carpet was torn, there were holes in the walls, the shower hold bar was cracked so badly that if you held onto it, it might have cut you. The tissue box had a huge crack so if you would put your hand too deep in the box it would pinch you. The corner of the pillow looked like it had blood or a red stain of some sort. There constant noise fridge making a popping sound, people stomping above, traffic etc. It is by the far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Why AARP recommended them is beyond me. My husband and I now call it the “un-Quality Inn. I have had a problem with the staying sharp cognitive assessment testing since June 11, 2025 and have reported it a few times and was given a case number 19516542 but the issue still exist with NO progress. It will be 5 weeks tomorrow, which I am very surprised that nothing has been done.   Is anyone experiencing issues?  JC

I renewed my member in August. The advertisement offered a charging hub. I haven't received my gift nor any communication about it. I received my cards and information.

Hello everyone! I am new to AARP. As I Look through everything it has to offer for me It has become a little overwhelming. I'm planning a vacation to Dollywood Pigeon Forge and would love to hear from anyone who has already taken advantage of all the perk AARP offers. I dont know where to begin looking for discounts, coupons etc. Here on AARP. Any ideas and recommendations would be awesome. 😁 

I am 71 years old and as with most seniors, politics is a vital and important topic. When will AARP restart a Politics and Current Events forum where seniors can discuss important political issues? We had a Politics & Current Events forum here for years and AARP eliminated it. Why? Such important issues should not be ignored, and seniors should be given a forum to discuss them in. Does anyone else agree with this? What about it, AARP, will a political forum ever be reinstated for us seniors? If not, why not?

All of a sudden I am not getting points for steps.  It shows my Apple Health is synced ( I even unsynced and resynched). It had given me points every other day the last 4 days (my apple health shows I have walked 5000 or 10000 each of those days). AARP was never able to fix the Fitbit sync issue which started about a year ago,  so I gave up and started using Apple health. It requires my synching my Fitbit to Apple health through another app…. So it is a pain….. but now I’m not getting all my points !!!! Beyond frustrating that this app is such a mess on so many levels. 

Has been mentioned before, but was mentioned to start new topics. ​@sandy , you admitted that replies were buried within a long thread and easily missed when replying to ​@SereneSeagull about closing a topic. So it is a problem. Now the replies are threaded and if more than one reply, it defaults to a link to be clicked to read the next, then more clicking reply links and so on and so forth. This can completely bury replies that may cause something to be missed.  If you forgo replying to a reply and post where it is visible, that creates out of context confusion. The simple way to view is have replies indented once and stay visibly listed for viewing all and not missing clicking several links to find. Also, we should be able to click on a reply link posted on a forum list or notices and have it go to that post without having to send out the search dogs. Questions:1. Can this be addressed and implemented? 2. Did AARP purchase the dollar store simple version and can't pay to have changes

 I received a letter this week, congratulating me on my membership renewal, which is fine. But it says "review email on file: None" and also "You are receiving this confirmation letter via mail because we do not have your email address or the email address we have on file is not valid." Yet my email address IS here in my account, and AARP sends me emails.   Both the emails and the letter do have the same membership number and other info.  How can I fix this? Also, why is there no way to email someone for help instead of having to post here wait until 8am to find a real life person?  Thanks for any help!

​@sandy , We NEED a place to post about this new Community Board, and the “What to Expect During The Transition” thread was closed to replies all of a sudden as we were using it today.    ➡️  As a community, isn’t it beneficial to share what is working and what isn’t?  Which is what I thought it was doing.  By that thread now being shutdown to replies, that’s tantamount to saying you don’t want us to share our suggestions together about what is working and what isn’t.   What gives?  Please put it back for replies, or allow us to start a new thread to do that. Whether you all think it’s a gripe fest or not, it was at least a chance for us to communicate and give and get feedback on this transition from you all as well.

I have not been able to do anything in AARP rewards. All we get is a message that says "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties in processing your request. Please retry in a few minutes. Thank you for your patience." for several weeks. The resolution we are provided is that someone is "working on it". Planned to buy guftcards for upcoming travel, which seems unlikely at this point.

Never use any OTA, they steal 15 to 50 percent from every booking. The hotel, motel industry would be better and cheaper if you book direct. As The OTas raise the rates so they can get more money from the hotels. In turn the hotels raise rates to compensate for the OTA fees. Always book direct. AARP SHOULD NOT SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS THAT ROB YOU OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

​@AARPSandyY , ​@AARPTeri  You’ve asked us that if we need a post deleted that we’ve made, since we no longer have the ability to delete a post within any timeframe, to report the post to you.   When using the three dot, drop down tool to the right of our post, the report feature shows this after choosing that. below… (see screenprint below).  As you can see, it’s an ominous message, that implies a negative connotation , when all a user is doing is self-reporting to you that a double post or mistake was posted by them.  Could an additional note be added regarding the fact that a post made by mistake is also another reason.  Thanks.  

     The tiny font size on these new boards was really bothering me. Until they decide to fix it by default… a simple fix for them btw, but one we may or may not get right now…I wanted to post what worked for me.        Click into where you will be typing in the provided blank area… —    Click on the box to the left of the B bold button.  It will either say                          “Styles” or “Paragraph”—    Chose “Large Heading”  —    Proceed to type This can also be done after the fact, by highlighting your text to be enlarged, then choosing the large heading option afterwards. Screenshot Below

I’ve tried for months to do some of the 1,050 point activities with no luck. I open the page and there’s no link to start or do the activity.  It just says progress 0/10 or something like that but no link anywhere to start doing it. I’ve tried on different devices and no luck. I haven’t done any of these activities already so that isn’t what is preventing it.  What is going on? 

When reading an article sent from AARP I only get part of the article. For instance the article that was sent about 4 medications that can make you tired. I got to the end of number one and then can not go to #2 3 & 4 as they are not shown. This seems to happen with other articles also. How can I see the rest of the articles? 

Might be happening here.  When new boards start,  some use it.. Would be nice if they told us. 😎

[Friday 9/4/26]Apologies if I am "missing" this in ALL the info you guys have posted. With the OLD SITE, I "deleted" the AARP Private Messages (PMs) as soon as I read the ones I received & sent.With NEW SITE, I "figured" out to "supposedly" delete the ones I sent, but a record of them still exists in my mailbox.Lol, does this mean we will NEVER run out of SPACE in our mailboxes?I know with my Email Provider IF I run out of "space", I CANNOT send or receive emails.Same with my Cell Phone Provider for texts.Also, we use to be able to see when our PMs were read? Did we lose this with NEW SITE?Thank you SO MUCH for your help with this!!!I am probably "missing" something here at age 68 this month.  I Just want to get an AARP PHYSICAL membership card MAILED (NOT Emailed) to my address. Not interested in E-Cards.  Not interested in the App.  Will never load the AARP App on my phone.  This has proven to be daunting! I live in the physical world and I just want to receive my physical membership card by surface mail to my address.  Not planning to review my membership due to this!S.A.
