So today, September 3, 2025, the chat option isn't working either! Does anything/anyone at AARP actually work?
Can someone tell me how to remove and or delete my profile and account from this ridiculous site?!? When I go to my account the screen freezes up. There is nothing on this site for me but aggravation!!!
Hi,I’m trying to update my spouse’s email on the Members in this household tab on our account details page. There is not an option to remove/add/edit anyone in that box. Can you help please? Thanks, Jim C
No place where AARP management will listen to ideas & complaints. Do they know everything or believe their members & readers are too dumb to tell AARP what they want?
It feels like a scam - in order to redeem points, you have to keep purchasing with your credit card until you reach the minimum limit rather than redeem as you go. What a ripoff. This program forces you to keep buying or else be unable to use the reward points. Because of this, I am now using this card the least, and opting instead for the cards I have with better rewards programs that let you redeem points as statement credits as you earn them.
I was insured with The Hartford for 20 years if not longer. In, I think 2020, I was involved in an accident that was not my fault. My vehicle was totaled by a drunk driver who ran a red light. For months I continued paying the premium until my thoughts cleared from the head trauma. I spoke with a representative and asked would there be an issue with my canceling the policy since I did not have a vehicle when the time came to replace the one which was totaled. I was assured that there would be no problem. Well, four years later when the case was settled, I purchased another vehicle and attempted to be insured and was denied because I had not been insured for at least 2 years (I think that was the time frame I was told). How could I be insured when I DID NOT HAVE A VEHICLE??? Suffice it to say, I had to get insured through another agency. AARP and its agents appear to be very deceptive. I renewed my membership but now I considering canceling. I think I need to have my head examined
If I renew for the 5 year membership (@ $55). does it start when my current membership expires (Feb 2026), or will it start now (thereby losing 6 months membership)?
Beware of AARP harrassment!!!! I have called Hartford 5 times to tell them to stop mailing me about their auto insurance. They referred me to AARP and I told them in no uncertain terms not to send me any more mail about the Hartford. This is unwanted and I will not waste time with someone that engages in false advertising. such as telling me that I will save $580 a year over my current coverage and in fact they are $900 more a year than my current coverage. However, the real point is I do not want any more mail from AARP affiliations. Period- full stop. This is garbage junk and I resent having to throw away someone else’s garbage, be it in my front yard or mailbox. No one would like me throwing my garbage in their home yard.As an attorney, I am going to Federal District Court in North Texas and file a lawsuit against AARP on 9/05 regarding this unless they can assure me that under no conditions will they send me any more mail. I have already filed a complaint with the F
AARP sends mass mailings to "valued members" to renew. Over the years, I've received many of these posted YEARS before my membership is actually due for renewal. AARP is well aware of this and chooses not to correct this clearly deceptive and predatory practice. It will be interesting to see if AARP takes down this post.
At least once a week I get a mailing advertising Hartford car insurance affiliated with AARP. They offer a free Weekend Duffelbag if you get a quote. I called and spent time answering all the questions and did a quote that was 30% more than my current car insurance. I was told I would get a separate email offering the duffelbag. It never happened. I called again and after being put on hold a long time, I was told I would get the duffelbag in a "few weeks." I don't trust AARP affiliated insurance products. I had a similar experience with a life insurance product. It was way overpriced and not highly rated.
I heard that AARP offered a Princess cruise line Gift card. I am new to the website and App and have not seen an offer. Can anyone confirm if this offer is still available?
aarp should quit advertizing for home insurance. when you contact hartford, they tell you its not available in calif
I just joined AARP and went to Profile Detailes where it says - add a second person. It said I am unable to add a person with the same name. Yes, it is my wife with the same last name. I added my wife on my application but it did not show it in my profile details. Can someone in AARP add this to my profile details. I want my wife to get her own card. Thanks.
Hello all. I’ve got a question as to who may post in the Community Boards, Current members ? Or does this also include the general public? Thank you.
I tried today to rent a car with budget. Their site is horrible. I created an account and it loses my password every time even though I use a password manager. When I do finally get logged in, my rental doesn't show up in my profile. I have to look it up outside their system. Then I tried to contact the local desk and they won't answer the phone, but the reservation line can't connect me to them either. It took many calls to get the local manager's email address and get a question through. I would recommend not using them until they fix these issues. Horrible experience. and I didn't save 30 percent either. Expedia outside of AARP pretty much has the same deals.
The note below I sent to Avis describes my issue: I received a letter from Avis dated June 12 that said I would be charged $450 for cleaning of my recent rental, which was returned on June 7. Customer Service agent I called said that car was found to have smoke smell and ashes, and Avis had photos to verify. I strongly protested, saying no such problems were present when I returned the vehicle. I do not smoke, nor does my wife or anyone who was in the car during the rental. Agent asked why I didn't take photos to prove the car was clean --- obviously, I had no reason to take photos, since the car was clean and I had nothing to prove. Call to agent was eventually cut off. I believe that any smoke/ashes damage occurred AFTER I surrendered the vehicle, and there is no way I should be charged $450 for cleaning. I want to get copies of photos showing the problem. Regardless, I did not cause the problem. They have refused to accept my denial of the problem, nor have they provided m
You know how AARP helpfully warns members to beware of unscrupulous companies that use fine print to deceive customers? Well... I ordered an AirBnb gift card yesterday morning from AARP Rewards. I didn't receive an email confirming the transaction, even though my credit card was charged immediately. I used the chat hours later and was told I should receive it within 24 hours of the order. I waited well over a day later and called AARP. I was told that someone would get back to me in 5-10 days. (Not necessarily provide the card I purchase, but get back to me). When I said I wanted to cancel the transaction because I wouldn't need the card by then, I was told I couldn't. They then pointed out fine print: "AARP further reserves the right to extend delivery times in its sole discretion and without compensation or reimbursement to Participant for any reason."I see now that there are a number of posts going back over a long period in this online community from other AARP members wh
Fork Yeah! Make a Salad that Rocks TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE! Might as well say the real F word! Stop trying to be cute and what editor would approve that headline.
Fisher Investments has been advertising heavily. I am considering a closer look. Does anyone care to share their experience with them?
I am trying to see if I can find a template that I can use to create something for my wife with memory issues to use if I go down and she needs to call 911. I might have to just type it out but thought it might be easier with a template.I'd need to start it out with exact directions to the house as we are kinda hard to find (with her issues she'd start out telling them how we moved here 30+yrs ago). Reg med list, temp med list, other issues. This would basically be something she could use with the 911 operator, then give it to the emt's for their information and pass it on to the hospital to use until my son or daughter could get there. Any ideas to help? Thanks
I got this thing charged but cannot figure out how to transfer power to phone.
My wife and I recently attempted to get a membership at Sams's Club for the first time. We did some research and found that the company has a $20 annual rate for people over the age of 50. Since we qualify, we attempted to get the preferrential rate. Our neighborhood store told us that we needed to appy for it online. When we did so, we were directed to id.me to verity our ages, which we did. At that point, we received the following message from Sam's Club: OFFER IS UNAVAILABLE. THE OFFER YOU'VE SELECTDED IS IN POPULAR DEMAND. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF RFETRIEVING MORE UNIQUE PROMO CODES FOR: I contacted customer service by telephone and was informed that this is a long-term problem for Sams' Club, and she wasn't sure when we would be able to get access to the offer. She did offer us a $25 promotional rate which increases to $50 after one year. I don't know for sure, but this seems like it could be a bait and switch - an ef
Links in the newsletter don’t open
When I try to sign up for this email, I’m asked to either sign in or register. I sign in which takes me to a totally different page and I can’t find the page that was having you sign up. ‘’I end up going down one rabbit hole after another. LOL I love the many live virtual exercise classes but I have problems finding the area to view and register on both the app and on the webpage. I can see the local events but not usually the exercise classes. I end up leaving a web page open so I can always find this area.
Get ready in California.... Just got our Hartford auto insurance quote....Same 2 autos, increase was 800 dollars. Most of 800 was for Liability. Our agent is now shopping but she even said, California is terrible now. AARP should stop advertising that Hartford gives AARP members great rates.....
