Hello Everyone! I don't know how many of you have had to get a Covid test for one reason or another, but I was ordered to get one today (yes, on a Sunday!) due to a test I'm having done as an outpatient this coming week. I knew it wasn't going to be comfortable by any means.  But I didn't expect to feel like a lighted blow torch was going up my nose, and I would feel that for the major way home.  UGH!  I think the guy administering it to me singed my brains!  Ha!   Owie! Have you ever had someone you be friended? Do you have someone that  be friended you at a point in your life that you needed someone to reach out to you when  you needed a friend? This could be calling someone that lost a parent or a pet! Share some of your experiences with you having someone reaching out to you!. Because few things have such a huge impact on happiness and the enjoyment, depth and plain fun of life as the friendships we have. It could be the friendships with our partners, family members, co-workers and the people we have known for a few years now or since we were kids.

Often times, resolutions are difficult to keep. We then feel guilty about not being able to keep them. This cycle of setting goals and then feeling disappointed in ourselves if/when we don't achieve them isn't healthy.    2020 was one of the most challenging years for so many of us. We lost so much, but as I reflected on the past year, the word that kept coming to my mind was "resilient." Humans are remarkable creatures, and our ability to bounce back is a quality I admire.   After some reflection on 2020, I set my sights on 2021. What word did I want to bring with me into the new year? What was my desire for myself in the year ahead? 2021’s Quadrantid meteors marred by moonlight The Quadrantid meteor shower is 2021’s first major meteor shower. Unfortunately, a bright waning gibbous moon will light up the sky on the expected peak night from late night January 2 until dawn January 3. Although the Quadrantids have been known to produce some 50-100 meteors in a dark sky, their peak is extremely narrow, time-wise. Peaks of the Perseid or Geminid meteor showers persist for a day or more, allowing all time zones around the world to enjoy a good display of Perseids or Geminids. But the Quadrantids’ peak lasts only a few hours. So you have to be on the right part of Earth – preferably with the radiant high in your sky – in order to experience the peak of the Quadrantids. What’s more, the shower favors the Northern Hemisphere because its radiant point is so far north on the sky’s dome. So you need some luck to see the Quadrantids, and being in the Northern Hemisphere does help. Sitting here having my coffee, in fact, may have more coffee as it is a cool Monday morning here near Lake Michigan on the Illinois side, suppose to reach the 40's today. I decided with all of the seriousness that has been happening we need to have some light-heartedness. This morning while I was toasting myself a bagel, my eight-month-old kitten was having his breakfast. The toaster popped up and my poor kitten was scared to the point of shaking. Needless to say, I had a good laugh at the poor kitten's expense.  This poor kitten is afraid of the can opener, mixer, and now the toaster.  On the high side, he does leave the Christmas tree alone.Make it a great day!!

Was talking with our son about how they're getting along working from home and having few alternatives for entertainment and got a rave review for Hamilton on Disney+. So we signed up for a month $6.99 and had a delightful evening to celebrate the 4th watching a show were tickets had been selling (by scalpers) for $1,000.00 a pop just a few short months ago.  Tonight we're going to revisit Catch Me If You Can - Not having grandkids in the area, doubtful we'll keep the service past the end of the month, but considering movie tickets for the geezer-pleezer matinee' were $7.50 last time we went, gotta recommend you all try at least a month of Walt's latest boon to Mankind. ENJOY!
