How do I stop these as my membership isn't due for another 2 years! And, my usual home page doesn't appear any longer. Thanks.
How do I reset the account in my name?
Our AARP membership is under my husband's name and I am an additional member. I have my own user ID and login under his account but then why does his name appear on my screen? It says "Hi, [husband's name] when I believe it should show my name since I do have a profile. I'd like to have my own identity even if it's a shared account!
The game site has a lot of glitches. For being a paid member, I would not expect to not be able to use the skip button when it appears on ads. The “Daily Crossword” has performance issues. The puzzle clues, across and down, will sometimes be side by side, and other times it will be listed under each other. If you close the iPad, the puzzle will not save and wipes everything off. So frustrating! On Word Wipe, often times it will end the puzzle when the game is not over.
Inbox really gets hammer loaded up with AARP panhandling spam galore. No shame. Like a monkey on your back.
Is there any special reason that I can paste a new password into the first field but not the next? I think that AARP is the only site where I can't create a complicated password in my password Keeper and paste it into the form. The top works by copy-paste or control-V, but the bottom password input has to be typed in....I mean, it is not like you are keeping the crown jewels hidden, or is it an exercise in finding out how bad my arthritis is? If I can still type, then it's nothing serious. Please fix it. RegardsAlfred
I really liked the travel cubes and was trying to see which URL led to that renewal gift when I realized, and should have known, nothing is free... With the Insulated Food Traveler + 2000 points using /rewewift16 it's $15The latest paper mailer offers my $1 discount from $20 to $19And /renew4 offers 2000 points for $12. Not sure I want to pay $3 for the IFT. How about a renewal screen that displays all the offers and let us choose?
Cannot add AARP card to Apple Wallet I’ve read all the various articles on how to add from App and website, still cannot. Seems to be an issue with AARP. Can someone confirm this is an issue with AARP, and when it will be fixed?
AARP is a membership association. Membership fees are the fuel that keeps the association's engine running. As such, this association should be transparent as to the make-up of its engine parts. That said, MODERATORS for the AARP forums should be identified as member fees do pay their salaries. Transparency of this type would assure members that MODERATORS hold no agenda and are truly neutral in all subject matter in which AARP is involved. AARP OWES THIS TO ITS MEMBERS!!!!!
renew my membership acc XXXXXXXXX87 3
Just a little feedback. And this is just one person's (my) opinion.I recently (1/21) renewed my membership for 5 years. At the time, the price was $63.I just received a note reminding me to renew my membership. That's fine, there's some lag time. But the note now has a discounted price of $49 for 5 years. You might think I would be annoyed at missing out on saving $14. I am not.I am very annoyed at this whole discounting scheme. Either the 5-year membership is worth $63 or it is not. This type of discounting approach cheapens and de-legitimizes what I think is a wonderful organization. This is what magazines do to up their renewals. This should not be what AARP has to resort to. The same goes for contests (... a chance to win $5000 if you just...). If AARP have this money, it should be going toward lobbying/activism. I don't want membership fees to go towards a chance to win money in a game.OK then, just one guy's opinion. Pleas
As the secondary member of the account, can I continue to use the account as is until the expiration date?
I just joined AARP and entered my spouse as a secondary member on the application. I get an error message saying "Sorry, the secondary member name must not match the primary member name. Please enter a different name." I've tried calling to get him added, but the call volume is very high and was told to call back later. Is there any way to get online help? Update:I talked with a Live Agent on Chat and she was able to add my husband to my account.
In the Shopit Now section, under Travel / Real Estate, under time “4. Amtrak,” you state, “Seniors 65+ travel for 50% off every train, every day.” I thought, wow, and immediately went to the Amtrak website, where I learned that Amtrak provides a 10% discount for seniors with some restrictions. The website link you provide under your claim about 50% discounts indicates that discount only applies to Amtrak Downeaster, which travels from Brunswick, ME to Boston, MA. So this savings does not apply to many of us who live in other states. I have lost interest in taking the time to look at the other ShopitNow listings.
Hello, I signed up for AARP for the first time in October last year after getting a mailing offering a "grab and go cooler" (the mailer referenced my upcoming birthday) but haven't received the cooler yet or any kind of gift. I signed up online instead of sending in the card, was the gift contingent on using the card? Thanks
After I enter my CC info, I get a "Processing" screen that never goes away. Tried multiple times with Firefox AND Edge browsers.
As a newer member, I find AARP to be pretty great, and I'll continue to be a member. But I have a criticism of some of the deceptive and manipulative marketing tactics used by either AARP or AARP-sanctioned partners. These are: 1) Marketing mail that use cards that appear at first like a gift card of value, but really are just print outs of the "savings" you could get if you buy the insurance, etc. 2) Fake polls. An example is answering poll questions like, "Do you support Social Security?". These are blatantly just to get clicks, and are not good faith gathering of information. Using these tactics on a population of people with increased susceptiblity of deception isn't a good look. I'd prefer AARP have a set of standards for marketing that prevented the low-brow tactics. Again, overall great, just offering criticism if it helps.
The name you have on the temporary membership card you sent me recently is wrong. It is impossible to reach AARP by phone. Howdo I get it fixed?
I live in a small town and rarely travel. I believe I have used my membership once or twice in all the years I have had it. Apparently, membership is only valuable if you live in a large metropolitan area. Yes, I know there are online benefits, such as quizzes, games, and videos. I am talking about those within the community. Am I missing membership benefits? I am seriously thinking of cancelling my membership even though it is only $20/year.
Recently, I received a membership renewal letter in the mail. It was requesting $17 for “Mexico/Canada membership”. Unfortunately - asking for a check or money order. Since it would be much easier to do this transaction online - I logged in and started the process. But the fee being requested online is $32! Why such a huge difference? I attempted to enable Private Messenger in the forum (using the instructions from other posts) - but My Settings has no such tab…
I've been a AARP member for many years. I always hear and see advertisements about a free gift. I've never, ever received a free gift ever upon auto renewal or my initial enrollment . How come? I should have received about 5 gifts by now.....no?
I've been a member since 2016, so obviously I have been renewed several times since then. How do I find out what my current renewal method is and has been for 10 years?
You know it really doesn't seem right that when a person joins they Get a gift, but it doesn't Matter if it's for 1 year or 5. I would think The gift should be according to How many years. Either Something different for the amount of years Or a gift every year.
I received a thank you e-mail for enrolling in automatic renewal. I did not enroll in auto renewal and in my account it's still asking me if I want to enroll. I am totally confused. I tried to cancel, but don't get to where it shows in the demo, so it seems like the e-mail is a mistake. UGH
Membership tote, you advertised a nice looking 3 container tote for the vehicle, instead I received a cheap one container carry tote that won't stand up in a vehicle.
