General Help

Since today, the red AARP horizontal bar on every page no longer stays at the top of the page but moves when I scroll down through the page. It is blocking portions of each page. Is there a way to make the red bar stationary at the top of the page? It's annoying. I think Chrome just updated today so it probably has to do with that browser. Thank you.

Does anyone thinks that the INSTANT SWEEPSTAKES are laughable? I especially like how the slot machine just sits there until it finally times out!

For weeks now most commenters to AARP articles are being listed with the commenter name, "Not Provided."  Is there a fix for this problem?  I've tried changing my community name to see if that would cause the comments to reread my handle, but the update throws an "something went wrong, try again later" message.

Please fix the app. No longer works on older iPhones. Please make the app backwards compatible. It just crashes over and over again

It is a rather simple question for which I know I will not get a precise simple answer; however, I thought it worth asking. It is not the members because members have no input into the terms of service or guidelines as relates to the operation of these discussion boards. So who owns AARP?

NUMEROUS VIDEO ACTIVITIES POINT TO THE VERY SAME ACTIVITY, "5 Things to Know About Wildfire Dangers."

I recently received an email via the AARP Foundation indicating a tax filing tool called april. I'm attempting to create an account, but am not receiving a code to verify my email address. Have tried several times, checked spam,etc...no code. Any advice?

How many of you got a letter that your SS payments are delayed?

Wow, I don't like to complain but the latest upgrade has to be the worst yet. Now I can't earn points because it says I have maxed out when I haven't done anything to earn points all day, and the rewards say I have already played the games when I haven't. Late in the day it seems to work sometimes. Not sure what the improvement was but it definitely affected the rewards area. Sorry to complain because the system you have for rewards is good and I play and earn every day.

 My wife & I have Aetna CVS Caremark Part D coverage since we retired (4 years).  The cost has been $10/month for the last 2 years.  We received our January invoice and the cost is now $45/month.  The notice for the price increase was sent when we were on an extended vacation last year and we missed it on a quick mail review on our return.  After contacting Aetna we were told our plan was cancelled.  There are plans available in our zip for about what we were paying last year & we would have changed if we knew the increase was going to be that much.  I know we missed the change window Oct - Dec. Is there any recourse or a reason that would allow us to change now or do we have to pay the huge increase for the remainder of 2025.

I have recently been receiving repetitive emails that look like they are from AARP. They tell me it is time to renew my membership. I want AARP to let members know to check the email of the sender. The email of these fake/scam emails are always different, and they are obviously not from AARP.Maybe AARP should include warnings about these in their monthly newsletter.

 Is there a link to all the online Table of Contents or lists of articles of the last year or several years of AARP Bulletins and Magazines? I found the webpages for the AARP Bulletins and another one for the Magazines, but I don't want to have to open each edition and look for the Table of Contents page individually.  A searchable Table of Contents would be great! I have tried searching by separate topics on the overall AARP website, but that doesn't seem to always turn up Bulletin or Magazine articles.Thank you!

Has anyone considered the chance of double taxation for retirees if income tax is replaced with a sales tax, VAT tax, or even tariffs. Most retirees have saved after tax dollars to a large degree, some cash, some Roths, and maybe some other methods. I have not read any articles on the ramifications to retirees. I am worried that the post income tax dollars we saved will be taxed again. This is something that needs to be watched and addressed. A change to national sales tax or similar tax without adjustments for after tax dollars means we will pay tax again on our savings. the only savings that won't be hit would be pretax savings. With the new administration this change could happen fast so please start writing your congress person now. The last flat tax bill presented suggest a percentage to cover income tax and FICA. Will the next one be similar? If so, haven't we already paid a lifetime of FICA? And haven't most retirees already paid income tax on earned money? I hope AARP can publi

While off island our fridge broke down. In a panic I called Sears to inquire about their Protect Plan. I was assured that if I got it, I'd have 30 days to cancel without penalty. I got it and the repair man said our fridge wasn't fixable so I paid Sears the $124.00 for that and called and cancelled the Warranty. It was in June 2024.  The hard sales woman would not let me off the phone!  She kept going on with her spiel until I shouted I just wanted in cancelled.  I made it very clear. She said it was cancelled and I verified several times because I am always worried about things like this. Yesterday I noticed a Sears credit card charge on my statement.  I get online statements which I will change now.  She never cancelled it and the amount I've paid to date is $402.22 plus the $124.36 for not having a plan.   After two days trying to find an account of mine online and getting a "you don't have an account" message when I put in my email and try to

 I have just renewed my membership and was shocked that I was sent 3 reminder and 1 receipt letter each containing 2 plastic membership cards. What a waste of money for aarp and huge addition to the plastic pollution problem.  8 extra plastic cards to how many thousands of members and potential members?  Shame on you! The cards are rarely removed from the wallet and could easily be paper.Please consider printed paper cards if you must have them at all. Robin North 

I have attempted to post on the main AARP page and have been blocked. The website keeps booting me out and back to the log-in page. Many of my other recent posts have been totally removed as well with no reason. I have followed the requirements on posts and still get removed with no reason or notification.  

 Seen while going through some posts, it appears to be a padlock on a triangle attached to an occasional post.
