Judging from past AARP articles such as: "6 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR PET SAFE WHILE DRIVING""HOW TO KEEP YOUR PET HEALTHY FOR LESS MONEY""TO THE RESCUE: SAVING ANIMALS FROM DISASTER ZONES" It becomes clear that AARP cares more for animals than it does for our fellow human beings. Why do I say this, you might ask? Because AARP seems to have restricted discussion of the caged human beings in the bug infested, tropical heat of Florida. Humans that are exposed to walking through their own and fellow caged individual's sewage. The ASPCA would not put up with those conditions for canines or felines. Judging from AARP'S defense of humane actions toward animals noted above VERSUS their restricted conversation of "man's inhumanity to man" in Florida can only lead one to conclude they care more for animals then our fellow human beings. This comment is not political in any way, shape, or form.  It is the expression that no human being, regardless of who they are or wha

I am disabled and take pain medications,  ever since these young kids started using these medications to get high i have had the worst time trying to get my medication filled. I am so tired of feeling like a criminal because i don't like to be in pain. Who gave these pharmacists with their little 4 year degree so much power, they don't know me and have no clue what my medical issues are. I know i can't be the only one dealing with this. Who do i have to call or write so my rights aren't being trampled on because of people who do abuse these medications.  

 I would like to offer my thoughts and prayers for those affected by the flooding. I pray for those that lost loved ones, children and friends, also those missing.  I pray God will be with them in their mourning and give them provision. The Bible tells us to be prepared because you never know when He might call your name. God bless you all🙏🌻

It has been more than a decade since I was last active on AARP Community. During my absence I managed to stay busy; occupied with my sons and their family, attending book clubs, writing reviews, posting commentary on news journals, and I also began painting with acrylics. During ten of those years, I lived in a senior community where I enjoyed the amenities and socializing with other seniors from diverse backgrounds. Then, five years ago, my sons pressured me to move to be closer to them. Although my new home is in a very nice building, the amenities and activities are for the majority of residents who are gen x and millennial professionals. I am among only a handful of seniors who reside here.  I no longer travel as often, and I have very little social interaction with anyone, except when family visits.  As such, I spend too much time alone. Hello all,I’m Bill, 68, lately retired from a life in mechanical engineering and settled in Southern California. Most days you’ll find me tinkering with a black 1965 Corvette Stingray that still sports its original 327, although the carburetor wheezes almost as loudly as I did before I beat colon cancer a few years back. I juggle the car project with visits from three grown kids and four lively grandkids, so progress comes in short spurts. My goal is a reliable Sunday cruiser, not a museum queen. His "twist at the end" of his stories are unmatched by today's writers.  This weekend, one of our cable channels is having a Twilight Zone marathon. Between the marathon and thinking about Rod Serling, I thought about what was my favorite "twist at the end". Here goes.....Hint: A decoding translator runs to stop her co-worker from boarding an alien spaceship screaming......."TO SERVE MAN"......."IT'S, IT'S A COOKBOOK". But it is too late........... When you aren't having to listen to commercials about hearing aids, drugs for the elderly(me included), or automobiles.....there are some funny ones out there. Many of the funniest are pretty aged themselves by now. My two favorites are(1) K-Mart's "I SHIPPED MY PANTS" commercial. I about did what you think they said when I heard that commercial the first time. You can google "kmart shipped my pants commercial" and get to it.(2) The second funniest commercial was a Japanese commercial for bath soap. It has a communal bath of young boys washing themselves with this bath soap with military type music in the background, when they finish, they turn around and stare at the camera and there is a surprise ending that will make you laugh out loud as we say today( I will give you a hint: It has to do with water and bubbles in the water) . Anyone have this problem?Moved into new apartment and need a few things. Problem is much furniture needs assembly and most places no longer offer this service - even when you're willing to pay to have it done. They just drop ship to your address - no unpacking, no carrying it into your home - nada!Hiring someone poses another problem: If that person doesn't do it correctly or damages it, you have no real recourse since the worker is not a store employee.Since I have no children and am new to this area I have no circle of friends to help.I'm curious how others are handling similar situation? Thanks for any advice.
