I read that the states that have legalized the recreational use of marijuana have used the taxes from such sale for all kinds of public good - From building schools to social inequities.   So I am wondering what good have you seen from these taxes?  Have they helped you directly or indirectly.  Have they reduced any of your taxes or supplied you with needed [whatever] needed benefits? They are collecting BILLIONS.  I just want to know if you see of any indication of where these newly added taxes are going.Thanks to any and all that may want to share.

As promised in my Run for the ROSES and Good HORSES blog, and in honor of the National Day of the Cowboy, I’m sharing my playlist “Like A COWBOY” highlighting songs featuring Cowboy in the title. National Day of the Cowboy is celebrated on the fourth Saturday in July, falling on July 26th this year (2025). It’s a day to honor the contributions and spirit of cowboys and to preserve the pioneer heritage of the American West and cowboy culture. My inspiration for the playlist was listening to Ashley McBryde’s “Aint Enough Cowboy Songs.” Not that I ever need a reason to explore music, it prompted me to determine if there was any truth to the premise. And lo and behold, I think there are plenty of Cowboy songs. CelebrateWhenever I go to the ER because of too much buildup of ammonia, I become delirious—at least that’s what my wife tells me, I however, don’t remember anything either about the calamitous onset at home or the continued havoc at the ER. My inability to recall unpleasant events since childhood occurs quite frequently. For years, my relatives like to talk about how I repeatedly ran away when my mother tried to discipline me—it took a long time for her to catch me. Another whopping example supposedly involved my grandmother. Every time my parents visited her, I greeted her with kicks to her shins. I guess it’s only human nature to blot out traumatic experiences, according to many psychological studies. But it is frustrating at times to accept other people’s version of events, especially when it sheds an unflattering light or bleak scenario. Just Finished the last season of The Guilded Age on HBO Max.  It is so well done!.  There’s been a great selection of shows lately on HBO.

It is comforting to have a delete button in my brain.  Thankfully, I can’t remember many of the life-threatening medical crises that I have experienced over the past year, even when my wife gives me the details of my near demise and its aftermath.Being oblivious to the dark side of my existence is a virtue. It’s never been in my nature to dwell on any of the traumas that confront me, so being able automatically to forget these horrors is a life-enhancing blessing.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have the funniest cartoon show on television.  Their season premier should win an Emmy Award in the cartoon category. 

His best satirical song was NATIONAL BROTHERHOOD WEEK. Go to YouTube and listen to it.  It is amazing how, 50 years later, the lyrics still apply.

To cancel the highest rated late night show in television, hosted by STEPHEN COLBERT, is beyond the pale. It is clear why this action was taken. Due to AARP'S GUIDELINES, we cannot discuss it here.

Connie Francis, Peter Yarrow, Marianne Faithfull, Sly Stone, Bobby Sherman, Sam Moore, Roberta Flack, Brian Wilson and barely half the year is gone and we can already start a choir of those we have lost. With all the singers presently in their eighties and beyond(you keep going, Willie)...I suspect that this choir will grow every year at a faster and faster pace. 

Connie Francis (born Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero) left us 17, July, 2025 at the age of 87. Her songs led "Pop" and she forged the way for generations of female stars! Thank you, Lady! "Everybody's Somebody's Fool" - Connie Francis
