AARP Lists a British Airways Discount of $200 per traveler when booking business class to Europe. I saved images from their web site to prove this fact. When I try to book through AARP I get the exact same price as booking directly with British Air. $8935.82. I called British Air, and they say it has to be booked through AARP. We called AARP support, and we were told that we have to book it online to qualify for the discount. We explained the problem to the agent that the site wasn't generating the advertised discount. The agent proceeded to hang up on us. We called back in again and got to talk to a different agent. This agent claimed that AARP has no such discount. We explained that it is on their web page right this minute. The agent kept insisting that they do not have such a discount and also hung up on us. There were only six business class seats left so we had to resort to paying the higher fare and bypassing our $400 savings. The ONLY reason we opened the AARP account was for t
The welcome email from createthegoodreply@email.aarp.org and the link on the https://createthegood.aarp.org/about/ webpage contains a link to register or update my profile. I'm unable to purchase "MEMBER ONLY" gift cards. The "ADD TO CART" option is missing. I can only purchase non-member gift cards. I have attached an image to show you.
Hi,I'm unable to purchase any gift cards that are labeled "MEMBER ONLY". There is no "ADD TO CART" option when I click on the card. I am able to purchase any of the other (non-member only) cards.
I got a notice about my auto insurance premium increase from Hartford: 80% increase for the coming year! I talked to the agent at length, I have had this plan with them for some time, no at fault claims, and have bundled auto and home plan. Changing my deductibles only reduce my rate by $50. I am writing to the MA insurance commissioner but how did they approve the increase in the first place? What are others experiencing, what recourse do I have?

I have not been able to get any rewards -- even though I have north of 2.5 million points. Chat has been useless,. Frankly, I had given up for nearly a month. Thoughts maybe it was fixed. I was wrong. shame on aarp. Said coming for someone who has been a member for more a quarter of a century!
I'm done with AARP and Expedia. For the second trip, my TSA Pre check number was missing from my boarding pass. I shouldn't have to double check every time I book a flight that the number was carried over. If that's the policy of Expedia then why ask for the number at all. I went through the security check and met with a federal agent for the convenience of passing up long security lines. It's infuriating to get to the airport only to discover I'm going to be stuck in the main line and will have to remove my shoes. I PAID FOR THIS!!! I think Expedia should pay every passenger $10.00 for missing the pre check on their boarding pass. That might incite them to make sure their system is working. In my case, it won't matter. I won't be using the service or membership anymore.
I ordered a flower arrangement for a family member to be delivered next week on their birthday. FTD said it wasn't possible for it to be delivered. Apparently a week isn't enough notice, back to square one. They did offer delivery 3 days later. Apparently they don't understand the whole point of having flowers delivered on a person's birthday. Used to be a good service, now it's worthless.
I try to book a flight using the British Airways link from AARP. When I selected the outbound and inbound flights, it showed discount rates for the flights. However, on the page calculating the final price, it erased discounts and ended up to original price without discounts. Does anyone have any luck in getting the discounts now?
I really wish there was a way to stop the free gift when you renew....and honestly I don't want the magazine either (I just throw them away). Free stuff is usually at a few quality.... I don't want it... I am so far away from retiring that nothing in the magazine is useful.
Just booked through Avis and tried to cancel less than 5 minutes later. They wanted to charge me $50. I would not recommend booking them! They are higher than other options out there even with their so called 30% discount. I wish I would have read problems others have had with Avis before booking.
Hilton Hotels are listed as giving discounts up to 10% to AARP Members. Why then, when I go to make a reservation at a Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn, the AARP rate is typically $10-$30 MORE than the standard rate? This has just started in the past year or so. It did not used to be that way when making a reservation on line.
Once again my Hartford auto premium has increased by over 15% in 6 months. That is now a total of 75% since starting the policy in 2023, despite no claims, no new vehicles, and taking their defensive driving course. I used to think of AARP as a very helpful organization for seniors. But their lack of willingness to at least acknowledge, if not confront, this issue that impacts so many members is extremely disappointing at the very least. My fellow members, please, its time to rise up en masse, and demand that AARP take a position - on the member's side.

When I try to book a flight using the link off of AARP it will show a discount rate for the flights but the final price ends up being the same as when I checked prices going on the British Airways page without using the link and it not showing a “Discounted” under the price. When I look at the breakdown of the price of the ticket they show the exact same prices in each area(fare, carrier imposed charge, etc) even though the price of the ticket is $200 less when picking my flights. Has anyone had any luck in getting the discount?
The rewards points should not expire. I had over 40K points on 1/21/2025 and now I just checked, and I am down to a little over 1K points. This is a total scam to me and a complete waste of my time to try and get rewards points to only have them expire. I noticed recently that I received an account summary E-mail in February stating that I had 24K points expired in January and then another account summary on March 5 of 39K points expired in February. I guess each month, I will have points to expire, which makes no sense at all. To me, it is all a complete scam and a waste of my time! This is a lot of points to not have any more since I have been a member since 2023. The whole account E-mail summary should be revised because you have to scroll down to see the points summary. They have your account achievements listed first in the E-mail. It is almost like they want you to miss seeing that your points have expired. There are no
I contacted The Hartford to add my new 2023 Polestar 2 electric vehicle to my longstanding auto policy. They refused, without explanation. My driving record is perfect, I had just earned the no claims discount. I promptly insured this vehicle with GEICO. I suggest that AARP reconsider their relationship with The Hartford, as this company obviously is not aligned with environmental stewardship and reducing the impacts of vehicular pollution.
Has anyone been able to successfully link your AARP account to McAlister's Deli to get the 10% discount? I've tried multiple devices and browsers and the recaptcha verification expires before the login occurs. AARP Members save 10% at McAlister's
I was on the phone with UHC for 40 minutes to resolve a website issue that started with me being unable to log in because, according to the agent, my account had been deleted (no reason known). After two agents assisted and my having to create a brand new UHC online account (again, unclear why) and waiting on perma-hold for a supervisor, I thought I would post my experiences with AARP's community. I did not initially see where/how to post, and the AARP rep kept me on an extended hold because she was unable to locate the community member board site. I give up. AARP is relentless when it comes time to renew (even when that renewal date is a year or more out) and promotions that include expensive cruises and trips, but not so much when it comes to meeting the needs of working class and middle class members. I had an equally unfavorable experience with their heavily-promoted Consumer Cellular phones and plans. No thanks.
Looking at June flights on BA, it is showing rack rates even after using the link to access BA, logging in with my Exec Club membership. Works fine for BOS-JNB flights, only BWI flights not working. All legs are on BA (no AA flights). How do we resolve?
I never was notified I had expiring points. That caused me to lose a lot of points- 4,000!Can you please restore them so I can use them asap? Thanks!
I decided to join AARP, gotta pop up about the drivers course reduction on insurance, signed us both up and two weeks later left on a camping trip. I got sick, tire blew out, refrigerator crashed, battery died, and mostly not enough Wi-Fi to do anything but check email. There was no warning the course was about to expire and it never occurred to either of us that it would. the landing page that led to the registration may have had the info but it would've been awfully fine print for us to miss it. is this a nice money making scheme for AARP? Had I known, obviously I wouldn't have bought it then. What's the deal with it being 60 days everywhere else in the country and only 30 in New York and CT by the way? who does that benefit and how? Supposedly on the side of seniors. my Social Security check makes me eligible for snap benefits and I don't have the money to waste. Shame on you
I received an email from AARP regarding their upcoming Tax season for the elderly and low income population. Unfortunately I fall under this category. For years, I have always had my taxes done by them and was always able to make an appointment over the phone with many days and times to choose from(even Saturdays). The email went on to say they will no longer have appointments because "we are short many volunteers this year so there is no call center or central appointment site available. So we will revert back to pre-COVID procedures and do walk in same day appointments." They will be at the public library here only 2 days a week for a span 6 hours and everyone has to stand in line for the same day appointment. But you can stand there for a while and never get a same day appointment because it will fill up quickly, so the next day you have to do it all over again and possibly never get the appointment then either. I am just saying
United Healthcare Supplement Renew Active Benefit premium gym memberships are dropping popular services such as Orange Theory, Exercise Coach, Stretch Lab, etc. and did not have the courtesy to send letters informing members of the change. This is a huge takeaway and shows UHC and AARP is not concerned about Medicare recipients wellness and physical health. This benefit needs to be restored for 2025 until such time as proper notice is given to all participants during open enrollment period so that other Medicare supplement plans can be considered that may offer better auxiliary benefits. It is very unprofessional and tone deaf for UHC and AARP not to communicate this material change. Where is AARP in advocating for this benefit for their membership?
