There are over 20,000 functioning ligIhthouses around the world. I have seen about 75 of them  over the years.

Many of them on the Pacific coast and the Great Lakes

Sorry it took so long to set up this next topic!

Fairport Harbor Light, OH on Lake Erie dates from 1871 and replaced an earlier lighthouse established nearby in 1825. Since 1945 it has served as the Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Lighthouse, and we highly recommend a visit. - Photo courtesy of Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Lighthouse.

This one looks like it has a lot of stories in its past.

The Round Island Light, also known as the Old Round Island Point Lighthouse, is a lighthouse located on the west shore of Round Island in the shipping lanes of the Straits of Mackinac, which connect Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. It was deemed necessary because the island is a significant hazard to navigation in the straits, and was seen as an effective complement to the other lights in the area.Because of its color scheme and form — red stone base and wood tower — it has been likened to an old-fashioned schoolhouse.

Right on the lake shore, next to a parking lot and is the home of the Wind Point Police Dept. no wonder it was so peaceful here.
