Marblehead Lighthouse in Marblehead, Ohio. The oldest Lighthouse in continuous operation on the Great Lakes. The lighthouse was constructed of native limestone in 7 weeks. It was first lit in 1822. There have been 15 Keepers of the lighthouse, including two women. The lighthouse is now maintained by US Coast Guard Station Marblehead. From dusk to dawn, it flashes a green light every 6 seconds. From Memorial Day until Labor Day, the lighthouse is open from 1200 noon until 400pm. Climb the 77 steps to the top for spectacular views of the Lake Erie Islands.
