There were some bad days mixed in with those "Good ole Days."

This was one of them.

Oh yes!
White patent leather shoes with buckles, dress with a crinoline slip underneath, white gloves and a hat or chapel veil from Easter until Labor Day.

…..I smiled when I read this….I am a bit younger and can vaguely remember the young tween girls in the neighborhood being all aflutter about the Beatles being on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Five year old me?  I was only ever excited when Topo Gigio was on ! 😇

      Thanks for the memory,

Yup! 😀 This was a kitchen staple -  along with avocado-colored appliances, Tupperware, a Fondue pot, and an under-the-counter bottle opener!

Speaking of bottle openers, did you all have a church key?

My first Mr. Potato Head had plastic body parts/accessories that you used on a real potato that was provided by Mom.  We also used apples and pears.

Then a new Mr. Potato Head came out with a plastic “potato” body provided with the accessories.  I remember that I liked using the real potato better because my imagination wasn’t curtailed by the pre-ordained placement of slots/holes on the plastic potato! 😇
