Hartford Insurance not shipping the promised free gift of a duffel bag
I have tried many times to get Hartford Insurance to ship me the free gift that was promised for getting an auto quote but haven't been successful in getting them to meet their commitment. This is extremely disappointing. I am being given the runaround by their reps.

Yep, same here. I spent time filling everything out, honestly looking to see if we can get a better deal on a bundled package and they were way off the mark too expensive but I did not see anything about the option to receive the free bag! To be honest, that was what triggered me to see if we could find a better deal! But now they are not holding to their end of the deal. That shouldn’t be happening in 2025! C’mon guys.

Yea they wouldn't even discuss my options because they said I had too many claims despite them being not my fault. And then they dont give the bag. Its all a scam and AARP is part of it. Taking advantage of older people. Im shocked that @AARPConsumerCare will not even stand up for us even though they are the ones to promote it. Its really sad. Im trying to decide if I want to renew my membership because if their top people wont follow up with the company they wont be there for the bigger issues. The bag is minor but its still something. #nothappyatall

Iwas also conned into this promo. Finished the quote. Could even retrieve it from email. BUT NO MENTION OF FREE GIFT. NOT EVEN A FORM TO FILL OUT YOU SEND IT TO. I'm beginning to you think AARP is more concerned about getting it's residuals from so called partners than they are about how scams like this anger their members. Proof in point, look at when these complaints started. It's been at least 3 years and yet the come on still continues. I don't think I'll renew any more

Hey AARP Christy @AARPConsumerCare , I had sent you guys a PM (and AARP Teri @AARPTeri ) last month asking IF you guys can INCLUDE the symbol @ BEFORE our USERNAMES when "replying" to us. I notice you are still NOT doing this. Now this person's USERNAME is "hyperlinked" going to a site that is RANDOM. 📸 Screenshot Attached. The symbol before our AARP Community Board Usernames SENDS US AN AARP EMAIL WITH A COPY OF YOUR RESPONSES. Is it possible to do this moving forward? The rest of your team were open to my request. I donot know IF anyone had "shared" my PM with you as SEVERAL AARP employees share ONE PM mailbox. This would let us KNOW you "responded" to our COMPLAINTS. It also helps out the NEWBIES with finding YOUR RESPONSE as there is a LINK in these AARP Notification Emails. Thanks, Nicole 💛

It's a ploy for marketing @AARPConsumerCare. My trust in AARP is starting to dwindle because they allow this to happen to their members.

I agree, I am new to AARP, doesn't move the trust meter in the correct direction as they find me in the top of the funnel of my AARP journey. It has become the go to story when a peer asks about my AARP experience, since it is my first experience with an AARP product after signing up.

Same exact thing I'm experiencing. I keep getting more requests for more free quotes but 2 months after my first free quote I've received nothing. I've emailed them but no response. Their quote was way high also. I agree that AARP should address this fraudulent behavior.

The same thing for me, I am offered a weekend duffel bag by getting a quote, which I called and did, but no gift ever sent. And I am getting more mail to do this again. AARP should part ways with Hartford if they can't live up to their promises.
