Hartford Insurance not shipping the promised free gift of a duffel bag

I have tried many times to get Hartford Insurance to ship me the free gift that was promised for getting an auto quote but haven't been successful in getting them to meet their commitment. This is extremely disappointing. I am being given the runaround by their reps.

I still haven't gotten my free duffle either. It must be a ploy between Hartford and AARP to get and collect names for additional marketing. Such a shame and my trust in AARP was hit.

I have requested multiple quotes for insurance in the past two plus years hoping for a better rate than I am currently paying. No luck yet, but I have also NEVER received a duffel bag and have been given the runaround when I call about it. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING AND UPSETTING! In my honest opinion, it is a scam and dishonest ploy to gather information on someone! SHAME ON YOU BOTH AARP AND THE HARTFORD! 😡

Did you get any result?? I ask because I am having the same issue. I called Hartford and they gave us a quote and signed up with the Hartford. No duffle bag was offered and when i called back about it, i was given a recording to speak with my agent about issues. I called the agent and they said to call AARP. So I called AARP and they said to speak with Hartford. No one is helping here. Very frustrate because the only reason we called is because of the free bag and now, we've spent the money but still get no bag.

I’m seeing a pattern with Hartford what it sounds like is fake advertising and incompetent people in Hartford and manage it as well and then AARP is not supporting their customers in directly addressing Hartford about this issue if Hartford isn’t a AARP brand AARP needs to stop promoting them and take law suit against Hartford, I did not purchase any insurance through Hartford I’m glad of that As AARP members that pay a membership with AARP them AARP should do their job and investigate the situation more thoroughly for the members I noticed the responses from AARP are scripted and perhaps automated,

The same thing for me as well and I’m sure for many other AARP members is AARP doing anything about these complaints flowing in? It’s in bad taste and business to promote and advertise something and then not follow thru with very disappointing.

Hello, I am also concerned about the promotional duffel bag. I had not only gotten a quote from the hartford but even purchased insurance through the promotion and still no duffel bag. Please help as when I call they keep transferring me to my agent and he knows nothing about this or even how to get me to someone who can help. Thanks

So since it is now August 2024 and ZERO successes here about aquitjng said bag.. we assume there ARE no bags, Hartford scams people, and AARP has been 100% unsuccessful to acquire one bag.

Perhaps you could reach out to them on our behalf, as they are not providing assistance. I have not renewed my membership because all AARP is doing is peddling a company's crap, even though there are complaints. How about escalating these comments to someone higher who works with the partnership, because all the complaints are going unheard. Same response all the time

The same thing for me, I am offered a weekend duffel bag by getting a quote, which I called and did, but no gift ever sent. And I am getting more mail to do this again. AARP should part ways with Hartford if they can't live up to their promises.

Same exact thing I'm experiencing. I keep getting more requests for more free quotes but 2 months after my first free quote I've received nothing. I've emailed them but no response. Their quote was way high also. I agree that AARP should address this fraudulent behavior.

I agree, I am new to AARP, doesn't move the trust meter in the correct direction as they find me in the top of the funnel of my AARP journey. It has become the go to story when a peer asks about my AARP experience, since it is my first experience with an AARP product after signing up.
