AARP Allstate Roadside Assistance/ Allstate

I received a letter from AARP Roadside Assistance informing me the dues will be increasing $25. I find this unacceptable as the service they provide is merely mechanical issues as they no longer have a trip planning department. I cannot understand why they offer an upgrade to Allstate Roadside for less. This is unconventional thus making me wonder why they are doing this. Anyone know why?
