Old Fort Niagara Lighthouse in Youngstown N.Y.

Neist Point lighthouse photographed from the seaward side on the Isle of Skye off Scotland’s west coast. Neist Point was established in 1909 and designed by David and Charles Stevenson. The lighthouse is a popular attraction for visitors who enjoy a half mile walk which starts with a steep down flight of steps (perhaps less enjoyable on the climb up on the way back!). The Grace Darling Lighthouse, Grace’s bedroom was housed in the white band section of the lighthouse where one stormy night she looked out of her window to be shocked by the sight of a shipwreck on the treacherous rocky islands just off the northeast coast town of Seahouses. Grace and her father rescued as many stricken sailors as they could. Still many lost their lives.

Wisconsion Point Lighthouse in Superior,Wisconsion

Long walk. Lake breeze. Family time. Made it out to Wisconsin Point Lighthouse with my Mom and my nephew — what a view!

Built in 1913, this lighthouse sits at the end of a 10-mile freshwater sandbar that marks the entrance to Duluth–Superior Harbor—one of the longest of its kind globally.
