4 comments (12/3/22) Hello Everyone! I live in Cave Spring, Virginia which they insist on calling Roanoke, Virginia sometimes. 🙄 We are a suburb in Roanoke and you could NOT pay me to live in Roanoke. High everything - homelessness, crime, housing, gas, food and so on. That is what the government here calls Roanoke City. My area Roanoke County. I retired July 2020 and hoping to "return" to Melbourne, Florida where my only child lives. We both left Florida in 2015. She accepted a job in Arlington, Virginia and I went to Manassas, Virgina. We all have some favorite treats and snacks during the Holidays. In her younger years Mary made about 30 different types of Holiday treats from cutout cookies to fudge to sweet breads. She would put together gift boxes to give to friends and neighbors. What are some of your favorite treats and snacks?

12 comments (12/4/22) Hello All Pet Owners! Pets leave us "giggling" at times and we often wonder what we would do without them. 🐕My last furbaby, no more for me, felt he owned the neighborhood. I had to walk him on streets with NO dogs. Short and would pick a fight with EVERY dog on our route. I would "think" his harness was "secure" but it was like he lost weight when he saw another dog = off came his harness and off ran Jeremiah. 😱Gave me several "anxiety attacks" when he would run into traffic determined to get in the dog's face. 😂🤣It was funny AFTER I got his "harness" back on and I was back home telling my ex about our boy's latest escape act. Miss you my boy, my walking buddy! 🤎🤗 ➡️Now your turn... Nicole 🙂 (Our Front Porch Forum)

My parents kind of spoiled me and I took advantage of being an only child.On a trip to a local retail store, I saw a cool looking white wool jacket and begged my parents to buy it for me. The price tag was $50 in the late 1950's which would translate to an extremely expensive jacket today.They broke down, bought me the jacket, with specific instructions not to play while wearing it.Of course the first thing I did was play football in the jacket. I was tackled, slid along the grass, and soiled the jacket.A grass stain , you say. NOPE........I had slid through a giant pile of dog diarrhea. Jacket ruined.Man, did I get a whooping.

Hi, I was at a party a few nights ago and this question got asked and it became a discussion point for the next two hours!!!  Would anyone like to share their most embarrassing/awkward childhood experiences?

I am taking care of my older dog, who has elevated liver levels on his bloodwork. It's really tough to give him his medicine, but I get through it. He has an ultrasound scheduled for next week. He is such a sweet little dog - a miniature poodle. I love him so much. My late husband loved him too and it was mutual. I'll take it a day at a time. He still likes his daily walks and he loves to get cuddled.

I don't see a 'kitchen' forum here, but thought I'd give this a whirl. How do you keep cut onions, and garlic from going bad in the fridge ? No matter what I try, it doesn't work well. I do have a garlic keeper for counter top storage-that works ok.
