      For me it would have to be James Taylor, at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, recently. I don’t think anything will ever top that entire experience!  😀  Billy Joel, as well as Bruce, would be next on my list of concerts that I’ve been to that were absolutely fantastic.      Any concert that tops your list, or one you hope to go to?     

My mom is moving this weekend, as she says for the last time, by choice, to a wonderful independent living community, I thought I might explore moving through song, creating a playlist of songs with the word Move or Moving in their title. Some moving song greats include Billy Joel’s “Movin’ Out,” UB40 or Bob Marley’s “Keep On Moving,” George Thorogood’s “Move It On Over,” Celine Dion’s “Love Can Move Mountains,” Carole King’s “I Feel The Earth Move,” James Taylor’s “Something In The Way She Moves,” Bob Seger’s “Night Moves,” and Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger.” Then there are several that want to actually make us get up and move, perhaps to the beat of the song, including “Move Ya Body,” “Move Your Feet,” “I Like To Move It,” “The Way You Move,” and maybe the song that started such songs, “Bust A Move.” https://listentothemusicblog.com/movin-out-move-s-moving-songs/

 We haven't done Halloween themes in a while. There are favorites, from "Monster Mash" to "Thriller". There are some music videos with a spooky theme that may or may not have anything to do with the song. Some are quite a production. Some are funny. As promised in my Run for the ROSES and Good HORSES blog, and in honor of the National Day of the Cowboy, I’m sharing my playlist “Like A COWBOY” highlighting songs featuring Cowboy in the title. National Day of the Cowboy is celebrated on the fourth Saturday in July, falling on July 26th this year (2025). It’s a day to honor the contributions and spirit of cowboys and to preserve the pioneer heritage of the American West and cowboy culture. My inspiration for the playlist was listening to Ashley McBryde’s “Aint Enough Cowboy Songs.” Not that I ever need a reason to explore music, it prompted me to determine if there was any truth to the premise. And lo and behold, I think there are plenty of Cowboy songs. But in the spirit of her assertion, I think there perhaps can never be enough Cowboy song, no matter how many are written and sung. Some of my favorites include Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been A Cowboy,” Big & Rich’s “Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy),” Garth Brooks’ “Good Ride

Connie Francis, Peter Yarrow, Marianne Faithfull, Sly Stone, Bobby Sherman, Sam Moore, Roberta Flack, Brian Wilson and barely half the year is gone and we can already start a choir of those we have lost. With all the singers presently in their eighties and beyond(you keep going, Willie)...I suspect that this choir will grow every year at a faster and faster pace. 

Connie Francis (born Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero) left us 17, July, 2025 at the age of 87. Her songs led "Pop" and she forged the way for generations of female stars! Thank you, Lady! "Everybody's Somebody's Fool" - Connie Francis

Can’t believe we haven’t had this song topic before, but I did a search, and it came up empty. List any songs (title or lyrics) about friends or friendship, being a friend, etc. We should know a lot of these. The song title that serves as the topic title was written by Burt Bacharach & Carole Bayer Sager. It was first recorded in 1982: That’s What Friends Are For, Rod Stewart  But the better known version was the one released in 1985 by Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder.. It was released as a charity single to raise money for AIDS research and awareness. The song hit #1 in 1986, and raised more than $3m. With our earth on the precipice of worldwide conflict, it came to mind that songs relating to war and conflict could end up being a huge list. I'll start the list with: EVE OF DESTRUCTION- Barry McGuire- 1965
