At the moment, I am praying that Adult Protective Services tells me Something about the investigation I was told would be conducted. There is relief from the harassment right now but the other party does not seem to be doing their jobs either. At the moment, I am hoping that my aunt will deem to reply to my text about genealogy, since deemed to respond to my inquiry on her health that she is visiting the state where most of her family/my ancestors are buried. At the moment, I am considering if/how to request funds from my trust after my brother turned over to an estate fiduciary. At the moment, I am deciding whether or not to call Lutheran Community. Services again for help after two people who said they would call me yesterday did not. At the moment, I am gearing up to wheel my blind elder companion animal with me on light-rail and bus to the most accessible Good Will to use $2.50 credit and use SNAP at the nearest Winco. Yet, I am positive and buoyant. Nobody knows all this stuff but whoever reads this comment. I am keeping the positive things to myself because people tend to ignore my problems and not help if I display how I help myself. I am just not enough; I am tired; I want peace and ease.

Dear @l124289r , what has "helped" me at age 68 is to FOCUS on the things that FILL ME UP. We cannot always AVOID "toxic" people in our lives, but we can try to LIMIT our time with them. People rarely change. But we can CHANGE how they "affect" us. Trust me, I still battle with "issues" from my VERY DYSFUNCTIONAL family life. Hmmm, have you tried "counseling"? I am SO SORRY you are dealing with all this.

➡️[*** L POSTED - loss of my life. just when I think I’ve been devastated til empty, something else is taken from me. my aunt would not listen to me even when she asked so I said I could no longer wait and hope that I would get a word from her. I thought she was respecting my needs but I got another magazine from her this week. I don’t want to reject whatever thing another might be able to do that they consider support but it’s a bit agonizing that people push things at me without accepting anything from me. I’m sorry what I have to say is so hard to take (secondhand) but I must speak of it because it is harder for me to take Firsthand. Maybe I’m just happy when external conditions are good but I don’t think so. Not being considered adds to the trauma. I think some family members listened to my mother too much. She complained about my closing my eyes for school pictures but I had congenital cataracts and surgery before age 30. She said, “everything bothers you” but she also said, “you’re just like your father; he was practically mute.” That her arms hurt so much that Dad slept elsewhere and moaned at night in her sleep later both suggest to me that she had fibromyalgia just like I was diagnosed with around age 30. . . I’ll post this crap as info for others to consider and maybe hear me, but I’ve got to get out of this wallowing!

TALKING about YOUR grief can feel awkward, but remember, SOME people want to HELP.

Simply SHARING what you NEED, whether it’s a shoulder to CRY on or an ERRAND done on your behalf, can LIGHTEN your emotional load.

‌‌➡️‌‌[*** Not everyone will be there for you, but keep searching for the ones who are. Forgive the ones who are NOT & move on to the NEXT person. ‌‌👍

Dear Cecilia @CeciliaM384861 , you will ALWAYS remember those 5 months dear friend. But as you take 1 step at a time in YOUR NEW LIFE = you will have LESS times of being sad. Grief is a journey, and you are doing GREAT with being Grandma. I bet your grandkids are ENJOYING their time with you.

Luv,

Nicole 🤗💛

➡️[*** CECILIA POSTED - My husband lived only 5 months after being diagnosed with cancer. During those 5 months he spent many weeks in the hospital. I stayed in a motel across from the hospital to be near him. I’m having a very difficult time remembering the happy times we had during our marriage. Instead I keep thinking about those five months and how his health deteriorated and how he suffered. I don’t understand why I’m remembering those awful days versus focusing on the many joyful times we shared. How do I change my memories to the happy days?
