⛽️ What Are You Paying At The Pump? Any TIPS To Save On Gas?

I was in SHOCK yesterday when I happen to "glance" at the Kroger Gas Prices as I headed into store to get my Weekly Groceries.

Lol, trying to HOLD ONTO the half tank I now have.

Back BEFORE Gas prices started upward, I would Gas up once a month when I received my Monthly Retirement Social Security.

Now I am staying home & driving ONLY as required (food,medical).

Geez, are we stuck with NEVER seeing "lower" Gas prices? 🤔 I feel once the wars go away (if they ever), YES!!!

I am SAVING as mentioned above by staying home but TOTALLY BORED & really struggling with having to do this in my Retirement. But have NO interest in getting behind on things like rent, electric, car insurance and so on.

One TIP I read over the years is to COMBINE your errands when you can.

Another TIP I saw online was to LIGHTEN your load. I was "guilty" of carrying around stuff in my trunk I had forgotten about. The ONLY time I ADD anything to my vehicle is during Winter. Got to be able to either "dig out" or "wait for" my State Farm Roadside Assistance to arrive. Hope to NEVER be stuck. Too old to be out there "freezing" my a.s off. 😉

I don’t pay at the pump, so can I link Shell Fuel Rewards® account to your AARP membership, you can enjoy ongoing savings with Complimentary Gold Status—including at least 5¢ off per gallon† on your fill-ups at participating Shell stations. @JodelD254057 , I have no idea. Apologies!!! Have you tried calling the AARP Customer Service? I only gas up at Kroger here in Virginia. I have NEVER used an AARP discount in my life for GAS. Kroger gives me "points" for shopping & I can use the points for a DISCOUNT on gas or future shopping. Thanks for sharing, Nicole (Friends & Family Forum)

Current prices in LV, NV (10-20-26) $4.97 – $5.42 per gallon. Costco is $4.89-5.09

$4.59 for gas, $6.00 for heating oil. I’m not putting my heat on til Nov.

Oh my goodness Maria @MariaK113398 !!! 😱 I had to put my heat on Sunday 1am to 9am for the 1st time. We had a Frost Warning here in Virginia. Has NOT been back on. Luckily I am on gas & so far, apt complex pays for it. Grateful we received a high COLA this time but as you already know, EVERYTHING else is going up come January. Take care my friend, Nicole 🤗💛

Avoid Highway Stations: Refrain from filling up at stations right off highway exits, which typically charge higher prices than local neighborhood pumps.

Excessive Idling: Letting a car run while parked for more than a minute burns fuel needlessly (idling consumes about half a gallon of gas per hour). PER GOOGLE AI 😉

$4.10 Kroger, Virginia. GOOD, maybe I can get it at $4 or cheaper END OF THIS MONTH. 🤞 At 3/4 of a tank. Plan to stay in until Monday when I do my groceries at Kroger. Getting HOPEFUL, prices are going DOWN.
