WE would luv to "hear" from YOU!!! Maybe share any TIPS that are "helping" you with transportation. 🤔As I AGE I know at some point I will NO longer be able to "drive" but until then my "ride" (2006 Honda CR-V) comes 1st after my bills. I keep up on her maintenance. Lol, too old to be stuck out on the highway broken down or freezing my old a.s off somewhere during the Winter. Now I do stay home ALOT during the Winter as I live on a hill. Learn't that lesson a few Winters ago. Made it down my hill but could NOT make it back up.When she is at my Mechanic, I use the City Bus & Uber if I have to leave her. I try NOT to as my "tolerance" for the passengers & Uber Drivers is ZERO. Now there are sometimes NICE Uber Drivers, usually the old people like me. My daughter pays for my Uber & I have a "free" bus id for bus. Only costs 85 cents each way with a "free" transfer to a 2nd bus from their "downtown" terminal as needed. I keep "change" in my purse so I have it always. Bus setup
Per my Wall Calendar, today is the 1st day of Fall.While the trees have NOT started to change colors as yet, our weather here in Virginia is "cooling" down.I luv driving along our mountains with their 2 lanes, just APPRECIATING what nature can do.And add the view of the mountains from my Cute Studio Apt in the hills.Lol, DREADING what is next. [Sunday 9/20/26 1:27pm ET]I am suppose to get NEW glasses each time I go see my Eye Doctor & he says I need to. But to be honest, some years I "skip" getting them. I usually get my "prescriptions" filled at Walmart.(1) I have "thought" about trying the ONLINE option. But it seems to be a chance you will NOT get the correct fit and so on. Anyone using online? Hello Everyone, recently retired and new to the forums. I’ll read around and get caught up.
My name is Carey Ann. I live in western KY near The Ohio River. I have 3 precious fur kiddos: Joy Belle is my 15 year old Yorkie-Shih Tzu mix, Kaela Grace is my 11 year old Jack Russell-Yorkie mix, and Maren Joi is my 8 year old medium hair domestic tabby cat. They are my heartbeat! I am unable to work due to disabilities, and I'm about to try for SSI for the fifth time very soon. For now, I live with my dad. We kind of take care of each other. I was living with my mother and was her caregiver full-time until one morning 3 years ago, she simply did not wake up. Last October, my only sibling, my sister, also passed away unexpectedly. So, Dad and I are the only ones left. I love to take photos, although I'm not great at it. I just use my phone's camera. LOL. I love taking pictures of my babies and of pretty much anything in nature. I love to sing (or make a joyful "noise"). That's all I can think of right now! 🦋
Why is semi-retirement so difficult and is there someplace to go and talk with other struggling Semi-retirees?
If you sent a message requesting a response from someone that you know received your message and, yet, they did not respond on purpose, would you consider that rude, impolite, and discourteous if they were: (1) A Friend(2) A Politician(3) Manager Of A Retail Entity(4) A Low Level Administrative Person In A Membership Organization Like A Church Or Union(5) A Co-Worker Would their status to you affect how you felt about the purposeful ignoring of your concerns?
Living on the Eastern Shore of Maryland looking for cancer groups my fiancé has stage four metastatic lung cancer and has spread to his brain he has had radiation and gamma knife surgery and has had six tumors in his brain. Looking for support groups and services in our area. We are struggling financially and are a family with children in school as well. Trying to see what is out there so we don’t feel like we are fighting this tough fight all alone!
