Anyone 55+ using Apple AirPods for hearing aids? What's it like? Pros/Cons

Hello,

I am considering trying Apple AirPods for mild hearing loss, but unsure if I should just buy a "proper" hearing aid that's only made to be a hearing aid.

What have been the good and bad things about using AirPods for hearing loss? How's the fit/volume/etc.

Are you using them every day or just when you absolutely need them?

How does it work with the app and is that confusing?

Would be very grateful to hear your stories.

I have worn regular ( expensive ) hearing aids for 10 years and the AirPod app sure grabbed my attention . However after researching technical reviews ,   the reviewer had these comments , summed up and paraphrased :

battery life is poor and they won’t stay charged for a full day

these were never intended to be a feature for feature replacement for the real

     thing

If you have mild hearing loss and will only use the AirPods occasionally and certain environments, go ahead and give them a try .  I look forward to your assessment.
