Tell us about yourself:
I'm a retired technical writer. In many ways, I don't consider myself retired, not the least of which is that I proofread everything I read and I edit everything I write. I just don't have a schedule, I don't have to do projects for someone else, and I don't get paid as much as I used to. Social Security, as good as it is, still falls short of providing a full livelihood.
Area of knowledge and what I know well:
I have a strong grasp of English usage. I might not be 100 percent, but I'm certainly well above average.
For some, it's fingernails on a chalkboard; for me, it's misspellings, wrong or missing punctuation, and improper grammar. With my increased exposure to social media, I have learned to temper my inclination to correct everything I read.
