Don't be fooled by Consumer Cellular

Horrible company. They advertise $55 for 2 lines for AARP members. I was told taxes & fees are included in that amount. But I received a bill for $70.63. When I called they said 15.63 is for taxes & fees.I cancelled my account. It was 4 days into new month & they are telling me that I have to pay for the full month even though I am no longer using their plan! No pro rate billing.

 

FTC should look into this & stop their robbery. AARP should stop sponcering them.

      Lot of people not going to agree with me on this. If you have already got service with another company then that bill would go straight to the round file.

      I didn't know that you could cancel after just one month, when we signed up years ago we had a 2 year plan with our server. 

      Another thing, ad in mag. doesn't say that those are included???

      Totally agree!  I was using T-Mobile and getting unlimited data and cell for $70 a month.  I thought the service was decent.  Then, they said they were going to raise the rate to $80.  I had seen that Consumer Cellular had a plan for two lines unlimited for $55 if you were an AARP member.  $25 a month was a big enough reason for me to switch.  Once I did, I found out that the $55 a month for Consumer Cellular is really about $72 a month after they add in fees and taxes.  CC doesn't have as good of service, especially if you plan on travelling internationally.  So, AARP is basically supporting a company and deceiving its members into believing something that isn't true.  Isn't AARP supposed to be protection its members from fraud?
