Today we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of The Beatles first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. In the article below, various artists share their thoughts.
I remember it like it was yesterday, and I’ll bet you do to! I sat down right in front of our tv set, and was as excited as everyone in the audience. I’ll never forget the expression on their faces, too, as they all seemed amazed, if not blown away, by the audience’s reception. They sometimes would just gaze out into the audience in complete wonder. What an exciting time to be a kid!
If you like, please share your memories, favorite songs, whatever you like to remember about the Fab 4.
February 9th is a special day. It is the date my
parents married and yes are celebrating their
73rd anniversary today. I had already heard
"I want to hold your hand" and was hungry
for more from the Mop Tops. My parents,
brother and I watched the Ed Sullivan show
religiously and this night was no exception.
I was just 8 years old in 1964. I can remember
this show vividly and the incredible set
they played that night. I was absolutely smitten
with those adorable group of guys and couldn't
stop dancing and singing along. It was the night
I fell madly in love with Paul, a love that still exists
if he is looking for his next wife. Lol. My love for
the Fab 4 has lasted almost 60 years and is a love
shared with my brother. We have at many times
bonded over our love of their music. It has got me
thru good times and bad, and that will never change!
@BeatleloverKT What a great story! Congratulations to your parents!
