    Good Morning, Front Porchers!

    Well, the BIG snow the weatherman predicted yesterday and the day before, did NOT arrive. Yay!  We had some snow showers last night, but even that didn't last long.  And this morning we have overcast skies, but dry, barren ground.  So maybe just maybe we will be able to get through the weekend with nada snow.  I hope. I hope. I hope.

    To those of you in the midst of the latest visitation of snow, just know that "This Too shall Pass."    Fingers crossed!

    Hope blooms even in snow.

    Alrighty, we survived the latest storms👍. Sanity may have briefly snapped as did most others up here.

    Melt of snowpack to 3’, add back after dual storms, back to 4’ in kennel.

    Today 35* and snowpack back to 3.5 feet. I don’t seem to be the only slightly insane New Englander, had a slight gripe session with VT and NH people.

    We were assisting a Flatlander to get back on road, he seemed impatient in a ditch as we talked.

    He did get out after rigging for a better pull, using trees for anchors. When offered assistance with tow truck 1 hour away accept it or gripe.

    AWD cruise control and he was doing 70 on back road, one lane and ice. We were doing 30, and stayed on road.

    Have lost 55 pounds this year, snow is weight loss formula. My back is still throbbing but, slowly feeling less cranky.

    No more snow!

    Froze

    And yes, after long days/nights, I'd still like to swing these hunks of glass , plastic and silicon against the nearest wall Come on retirement!

    @Frozenoem   Say what you will your weather sounds awful.   Hope you have that appointment with the specialist rescheduled.  Losing 55 lbs requires new clothes!   My desktop & monitor doing well BTW.

    We have gone from early spring to early summer temps, with 80  degrees for 4  or more days in a row.  Nights are in the 60s.  Should go down to the 70s next week.

    Hi, Porch Peeps!

    Those darn snow storms across the country are so scary. I sure hope everyone is safe and will be saying good-bye to that nasty stuff. Heard this AM that there are tornadoes brewing in the South.

    We have basically a gray day here; rain due over the weekend. It will be warming up thank goodness. I'm tried of the chill and want open windows. @Frozenoem ...not sure how you can stand it. It has to get harder as we "mature." Cat Wink Good luck keeping your pants up! Cat Happy

    @LaDolceVita ...I'm wanting your temps!

    Good morning to everyone on the Front Porch on this Friday Morning. Our weatherman this morning said we will have a couple days without rain but temperatures a little below normal. Next week we should be back to normal temps.

    Hoping everyone has a great weekend and normal Spring weather.

    Good morning, Front Porchers!
    Today's one of my favorite days of the week. One whole twenty-four hour period to do whatever comes to mind (allbeit legally and morally kosher of course). The weather here is great! Cold, but sunny with blue skies and only a light breeze so far. So I'm good to go!

    I woke up this morning, early, to do laundry. Load after load of overdue laundry. But I plan on a movie and dinner out later with friends. Alittle bit of work and then a little bit of play makes for a really good Saturday!

    Just the other day we had snow showers and now we're moving back into Spring mode. Talk about climate change! Anyway, for those of y'all who are still in winter's grip, just know that it will get better...E-V-E-N-T-U-A-L-L-Y!  And most of all, Porch Peeps, enjoy the day!

    50* and Sunshine a concept is born, warmth not cold. Snow melt and rivers rising.

    It’s true  @n566192l  Nancy does have 🐕 and 🐱 supplies, good stuff.

    Never thought Chell would like coats, she loves hers. Always a question if you buy one does it become a chew toy or warmth for cold weather wear.

    ALso different treats for your furry companion(s). Feel like I ‘m going to turn off furnace and open the windows.

    @catwoman500

    Febreze spray works on skunk odors, even works on dogs for safe non-toxic odor relievers.🤣

    Enjoy your Palm Sunday

    @n566192l   Thanks for the offer!  Thankfully we do not need dogs coats even in the winterWoman Very Happy  I  am looking for several dog reflector vests so someone in the neighboring deer stand does not shoot one of my darlings. My Tessie could definitly pass for a deer as she is chasing a rabbit out there.  Most of my dogs are in the 55-80lb range.  Except for little fat Daisy.  She is a tiny double dog, intermittent fasting and all.  Anyway, I must obtain several of these vests before I return with dogs to homestead.

    Trouble is all of a sudden I am too tired to go.  I have resorted to support socks, anything to stop aching feet and legs.  Part of it is plantar fasciitis but it does not explain it all.  I complain to anyone who listens that I cannot walk for heaven's sake.  @Frozenoem Luckily I do not fall but there is a huge difference in the way i feel lately and like you I dont have much patience for it either.

    @LaDolceVita

    Check out hunting seasons for new homestead, to cover your posterior. Also whether open carry or not state.

    Walmart and Tractor Supply sell reflective vests for dogs and humans. Wouldn’t be caught outside during hunting season without vest and hat on myself or Dogs.

    Problem with all of my dog’s regardless of size, during season for anything people shoot everything that moves.

    Reason why most dairy cows become covered in Orange Paint during hunting season. Horses in blankets, etc.

    Chell and all my dutches have been striped and size of coyotes.

    They wear vests in woods period. Lab’s and Rott’s No different, vests.

    Year round open season on coyotes, have had discussion? with one person already, 20 years back about checking what they shoot at, he still gives me a wide berth on street, luckily for him, he missed.

    Most twits other than above person were non-locals. You also might like to check if homestead is in open carry state, more asses in the woods.

    I know how to use firearms, it’s the other creatures that worry me😎

    Re: Vertigo - still waiting for appt. haven’t collapsed lately👍. Still a problem but, seats are mysteriously appearing about town.

    @catwoman500

    Febreze and dare I say it Massengil vinegar/water and skunks always pop into my mind with the first hint of scent. Regular hikes in the woods first aid for 🐶 and just in case supplies, for humans.

    Ever ride with friend, significant other or K-9 after being sprayed. Ten minutes or 4 hours it’s just too much.

    @n566192l

    Hurrta’s are good if my Finnish is still good. Don’t worry about reflective vests, have had dogs size pup to 150  lb Rottweiler in all sizes. Took awhile to find good ones for running in pucker brush. (Thorny, spiked vegetation). Those vests have maximum industrial strength Velcro, regular PITA to remove🤣.

    My bear Rottweiler/lab enjoyed climbing on some old maples, and had habit of snagging upon limbs in the vest. Before retrofit of Velcro it would be hanging in tree, like a flag.

    After tailored for her , and heavier cloth used it never came off without human intervention. Now, that vest has served several dogs through the years, and now, is Chelli’s if I just can hike again is a crapshoot at moment.

    Same as their PFD’s for the boat. Personal Flotation Devices for swimmers and non-swimmers both.

    Re: Her chewing habits and pillows not going to risk it. What goes in has to come out again. Not my favorite sporting event🤣.

    It’s bad enough I still must examine all of her stools for hookworm evidence, before disposal.

    Driveway is once more 40’ wide, sidewalks are reappearing in places. They been buried for a really long time.

    Oh happy days🤣

    Catwoman500,

    After I read your post about the skunks, I remembered the episode of the Partridge Family. The one where they used tomato juice to get rid of the smell. Gallons of tomato juice, I think they filled a tub with the stuff.

    I was happy that Frozenoem, gave you more alternatives. 2 years back my neighborhood had a horrible skunk problem. Fortunately, one neighbor took the lead and hired a trapping service. We all pitched in money and the skunks were relocated to another area. In a 2 week period, 32 skunks were caught, 2 ground hogs and 3 possums. Thanks to our neighbor we can all breath .

    It rained than cleared but still windy. Last night we had very loud thunder. A cluster.

    Good morning everyone.  A perfect Camelot day here in NW Georgia.  In the 40s overnight  and high 70s for daytime highs.  Low humidity, it doesnt get any better than this.

    Reporting back on the plantar fasciitis.  I have been doing heel raises on the stairs and it has taken over 10 days of it but I think I am over the worst of it.  Hopefully the tiredness will go also disappear but I will not know that until late afternoon.  @Frozenoem  I wish your problem was as easily solved, but alas not so.  Hopefully you trust "medicine" more than I do.  But sometimes you have no choice and they are able to do wonders in some cases.

     @catwoman500   I am thinking about how you will miss your pool this summer!

    54* and first true sign of Spring, flood warnings went up for the coming week, especially if rain comes later.

    We also got the first warning for fire danger in areas without snow cover, dwindling but, I am still in the green, at #4.

    41* and rain through Sunday evening, with flood watch up for rivers due to runoff and snowmelt.

    Tonight will prove interesting river is within earshot of my house on both sides, it’s a good 300’ and 10’ up ,before hitting the road.

    And on that cheery note need to attempt playing in the woodpile,  would like some wood for tonight.

    GREETINGS,

    I spent the day moving my neighbors cars. There seems to be a group of people who are targeting old Hondas. Apparently, the catalytic converters in these cars are worth money. Several cars have had there catalytic converters taken right in front of people homes. I understand it only takes 15 minutes to remove the part. So , I am storing 3 old Hondas for my neighbors. Replacing this part is rather pricey. Some people have paid over 1,000.

    64* and nice here in New Jersey.

    Enjoy your evening 😊

    LaDolceVita,

    I Googled it and found out that, it's been a long time problem. Please, watch out. I am not sure if the catalytic converters of Hondas minivans are targeted. But, if you Google it you can clearly see the all the places old er Older Hondas have been targeted.

    I am enjoying the old movies tonight. I love the costumes, and story line.

    Nice night here in New Jersey 😁. Just making a Turkey for my 🐕,and putting together Easter Baskets. I am surprising my daughter with a Collection of Seventh Generation products. The only products she uses. Also, vegan candy.

    Enjoy your Evening

    Good morning to everyone on the Front Porch today on this 18th day of April 2019. We had weather issues in the Southwest part of Wisconsin with wind, rain and hail. We had thunder and rain hear. Today's storms are moving through area's Southeast of here. We will be cloudy and have a high of 50* today.

    Sounds like April showers have been much more than that in some of our Front Porchers area's.

    We will be having family over for the Easter weekend. Our oldest daughter will have everyone over for brunch on Saturday and will be dying Easter eggs at our house in the afternoon. We will not be doing much on Sunday.
