Zzzzzz. Oh! Hello! (HUGE YAWN!) Wow! Whomever said the second dose of vaccine made a person sleepy wasn't kidding. I've been down in bed, curled up with a kitty for most of the day. I can't even read a book and concentrate on it. My "to do" list became a "to don't " list really fast today! I need to get out the toothpicks to prop my eyelids open to make supper tonight! : )
It's clouding up here, getting ready for some rain tomorrow. Yuck...I have to be up early to take my car for inspection tomorrow.
Nothing exciting going on here. I guess I do have to check on my towels in the washer to make sure they are not misbehaving. It's quiet down there so all must be ok unless they killed each other.
@Frozenoem ...you eat whatever knocks your socks off. I do like food that is "visible," and not hidden under coverings. LOL Not a fan of mystery meat...actually not a big fan of meat in general although I wouldn't say no to a burger! 😻🍔
It's lunch time here so I guess I'll try to get rid of the rest of the Easter eggs and make some egg salad. 🥚
@RosemaryF433825 ... Nobody I know had that "tired" reaction. I guess you should just sleep it off and you'll be fine. At least you were able to get that second shot! 😸
@MsStretch ...keep running from the walking dead. They don't seem to move that fast, so pretty sure you can stay ahead. 😱
Not mystery meat, I still can tell the difference between chicken and rats. Texture and meat fibers. There’s just something about the taste of crunchy KFC original.
Something similar to DC’s Americana hotel and whatever fried chicken place was in the basement and kept me full for 2 years in Pentagon City.
Prefer my fish , self caught salmon , oh yeah.
Ribeyes lightly encrusted in a Montreal spice , for no longer than 7 minutes in cast iron pan.
About the only weather issue for the moment is snow for Friday and Saturday. Closed my windows and brought in firewood, just in case of power outages.
Even dusted off off my Coleman’s camp stove and Percolator for DD French Vanilla. Bought 8 lbs with 20% discount.🤣
Think I’m going to fill up my wood box, now.
Froze
And yes, after long days/nights, I'd still like to swing these hunks of glass , plastic and silicon against the nearest wall Come on retirement!
It is nice to finally put the shots behind me... for now. flu, COVID, shingles. That is until the next year's round begins again. Of all of them, my least favorite is the Shingrix. However, just tell yourself that a few days of possible side effects is infinitely better than contracting the actual disease.
Last summer when my AC went kaput, my landlord had a guy he knows and has worked with, come in and replace it. I remember when he came in setting up the temp AC and working on the installing the new one, he never wore a mask. I thought it was rude and I maintained my distance, even going outside. I should have expressed my unease, but he was here with the landlord and I just stayed out of the way -- far out of the way. Flash forward to yesterday -- found out he just got out of the hospital after recovering from... yep, you guessed it -- COVID. He worked on other people's heating/AC, too. 🙁 Of course, this is months removed from when he was here, but it just made me mad that he was so careless with that 'Not me' attitude. One word - karma. He believes now. Said it was the worst, most horrendous experience. In fact, he can't wait to get the vaccine, but I think you have to wait 30 days after recovery? His whole situation reminded me of what happened with Mr. PoopyPants recently. (Remember this one, @Frozenoem ? 😂)
Remember him and was mentioning that just the other day. One week Teddy is still talking about how fake the pandemic is, then seemingly one week later he gets it.🤣
He still says he won’t take the jab, Through fear of what’s in it.
I believe it was in another group, where Politics is still allowed, started by former AARP’ers, years back, or from Prospero plus days. Only have one bat💩 crazy member in the group, MAGA type.
Still seeking alternatives, where Politics can be spoken, Tapatalk or FAcebook style.
And on that cheery note, it’s time to make a fire, PM if interested, one’s by invite only.
The other requires Tapatalk, just like the golden commode group we used to belong to.

It has been chilly here as well! There was a freeze last night and we have frost warnings for tonight, too. Brrrr. I tried to cover some of my more tender perennials outside, but any annuals I've bought so far have been nice and snuggly on my sunny three season porch. My fingers are just ACHING to start planting something. (heavy sigh)
The Nanking Cherry bushes are blooming, and I've noticed some flowers blooming in peoples' yard in the city. It's always so awesome to see everything turning green and have some colors again after a long winter.
@catwoman500 , looking at the same stuff here south of you. Wind. Wind. Wind. 🌬 Downright scary sitting among all these big oaks with all the branches and twigs hitting the roof. BAM!
Went from sweaty yesterday to chilly today. 🥵 > 🥶 Yup, must be spring!
Gosh ladies! Please be careful and stay safe where you are!!! Your weather descriptions don't sound good at all! It was very sunny here today. I should have been out working in my flowerbeds again, because I still have some that need last years' stuff removed. But I felt too lazy, (kitty) Mr. Myles and I. So we basked in our loving companionship inside instead.
Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 80's! (And people steadfastly claim there's no such thing as climate change???) Those temps are unheard of for this time of year here. Ah well, I will have no excuses at all not to be working outside.
Be safe, sleep well. Rejoice in another day yet to come.
Have laid in my initial supply of Repel Tick Defense. Couldn't find it at local Walmart, so ordered a dozen cans on Walmart.com. (Love that picaridin and Repel is cheaper than Sawyer.) Already pulled a couple of the little suckers off back in March, so every subsequent hike was/is prefaced with a liberal spray-down.
And speaking of more bugs, back to using water plates for the kitty bowls so the kids have a chance before the ants breech the sides and carry off the shreds and meaty bits.
We are having pouring rain right now and expect it for the rest of the day. Open windows; close windows...the story of this week so far. Back to the 60's we go today and will remain in the 60's for a while.
Wish I had thought ahead and bought some ingredients for tacos or at least a Margarita.
Oh, well...at least no bugs can bug me today inside or out. 😸
Good afternoon everyone on this Wednesday May 5th, 2021. I took a walk this afternoon after lunch and took some pictures of the flowering trees and some budding flowers on our grounds. Hoping everyone has a restful night's sleep.
Our apartment is shown in the upper righthand corner of the first two pictures!
Good morning everyone on this Saturday morning of May, 2021.

Yes, YES! Wishing all Ladies here a Happy Mom's Day!! And I blow a kiss to the heavens to my own Mom, Aunts, and Grands who brought me up surrounded with their LOVE!
@catwoman500 , @LaDolceVita , and anyone else who lives in the Colonial Pipeline states, hope you're gassed up and/or hunkered down. Governor of VA declared state of emergency today and the panic buy was on. Neighbor said it was bad out there. After waiting in a long line, she pulled up to a pump, bought $20, pumped in 2¢, and it ran out. On to the next station which sits on an intersection and lines waiting to get in had traffic tied up in all directions. Of course, the price was already jumping up.
I had just filled up last week so I dodged the bullet. Probably will postpone (again!) visiting old friends in NC (now that we all are fully vaccinated) whom I haven't seen for over a year.
@MsStretch I just read about the Pipeline shutdown for all you Southern and Eastern folks!
So very sorry to hear that. It reminds me of when I was on a business trip when 9/11 happened and everyone was going crazy at the gas pumps.
I don't know if that will affect us as far as prices in the Midwest. But luckily, I keep an extra gas stash at all times out here in the woods. I never know when I may need it, or come across someone who ran out of gas that I could help. 😇
These are crazy times that just keep getting crazier! Stay hopeful, friends!
They're asking people not to fill up if unnecessary because that will drain supplies and drive prices up. Also not to travel in southeastern states unless absolutely necessary because that will cause widespread outages. But, of course, nobody listens and a mass hysteria ensues and the panic is on. 🙄 Witness the TP debacle last year.
@RosemaryF433825 , I was reading that the shortage may drive up prices in the affected area, but other states not served by the pipeline should see minimal price increases this summer.
Hi folks, it has been a while since I posted. We have had an extended spring, will be over tomorrow I think. Nights temps have been in the 40s and 50s with about 70 for days and it doesnt get any better than that! I will soon start griping about the heat. No news here, everything at a stand still including house construction. The furry and feathery creatures all doing very well. Diabetic Tigger is very well too.
Have been planning an outing while it is nice but that has not materialized. I am really ready for something fun, to see another sight other than the house and grounds. For fun I just watch prices go up, everything from food to books. Oh yeah, had a bit of fun not being gasoline secure, but I never quite ran out.
@LaDolceVita Good Morning!! Good news about your Tigger!!!
What a rough time to be trying to build a house, what with construction prices through the roof!! I feel you, for sure.
I took a business/pleasure trip last Thursday out-of-state, and felt like a freed bird. Amazing what a change in scenery can make one feel...more so after all this pandemic!!!
