Did Anyone See Jimmy Kimmel's Eulogy To His Friend and Band Leader?
Jimmy Kimmel lost his life long friend Cleto the other day.
Instead of his standard monologue, he remembered his friend.
Intermittently unable to hold back tears, he brought tears (and laughs) to my eyes as he reviewed the life long friendship he had had with Cleto since age 9. Chronologically revisiting their life together as children, teenagers, and men was one of the most heartfelt eulogies I had ever heard.
Cleto, as a younger man, became somewhat famous regionally as a saxophonist but when Kimmel became nationally famous, he begged the producers to hire his friend as the band leader. They hired him. They even hired Cleto's dad who still is in the Kimmel show's band.
Cleto died young at age 59 and must've been sick because Kimmel thanked a long list of caregivers at the end of the monologue honoring his friend.
