Where should I start with a puzzle in Hex Jigsaw Challenge?

When you’re presented with a fresh set of puzzle pieces in Hex Jigsaw Challenge, it can be tough to know where to begin. Generally, you want to start with the edges! Border pieces are easier to identify and help form the framework for the rest of the puzzle. Once you’ve placed some pieces on the edge, you’ll start to see other shapes that can be plugged with additional pieces.

Hi @cg5448, here’s a clearer breakdown of what you’re seeing on screen:

The pieces at the bottom (your “queue”) - These are the hex-shaped puzzle pieces you can place next. You’ll usually see a small group at one time:

  • Drag one onto the board to place it
  • When you use one, a new piece will appear to replace it
  • If none of the current pieces fit, the game will reshuffle or refresh your options

The board (main puzzle area) - This is the large hex grid where you’re building the image:

  • Each space is part of the final picture you’re trying to complete
  • Pieces will “snap” into place when correctly positioned
  • You’re essentially filling in the full image, one section at a time

The squares/indicators at the top - These act as progress tracking:

  • They show how much of the puzzle you’ve completed
  • As you correctly place pieces, you’ll see progress fill in
  • In some levels, they may also reflect sections of the image being completed

Helpful tip - Unlike traditional jigsaws, success comes more from:

  • Matching colors, patterns, and edges

Not a help  to first time player.  What are the symbols at the bottom? Do I start with one or with a puzzle from the list?
