I have not been able to get to the Japanese gardens lately and I've missed going. I thought I would go on Friday, but something was telling me I should go on Saturday. I went and discovered that they were having an OBON weekend where spirits of ancestors are honored. I attended a Taiko drum performance and we were invited to write notes to our loved ones who are no longer physically present on this earth with us. The notes were collected and they will be sent out tonight in floating lanterns. The tradition is done on the final day of the OBON festival and it signifies the time to let go and free the spirit.

I was comforted by the calling and the opportunity to participate in the event.

Nicole @SummerOnTheWay1 , Today I had workers at my house. Any day that happens I am encouraged that I am getting closer to getting my home back!

It's been a busy weekend Nicole @SummerOnTheWay1 . Tonight I was invited by a friend to some friends of her for dinner. Since I have no kitchen currently, it was nice to have a home cooked meal that they made in their working kitchen!

Nicole @SummerOnTheWay1 . After a few rainy days I’m so glad the sun came out today. I have been determined to make the best of my time away, so I have ventured out in the rain.  Today however was much more enjoyable and tomorrow looks to be sunny too.
