"Content Deactivated" and "Awaiting Review"

Why are so many innocuous comments flagged with "Content Deactivated" and "Awaiting Review"? And why does the review process often never happen? I've come back to comments that are weeks or months old, and they're still awaiting review.

I would insert a screenshot of a "Content Deactivated" example, but the Insert/Edit Image tool doesn't actually provide a way to insert an image. For example, there's no option for browsing my desktop to select the image.

Great question, @BalbonisMoleskine. For your protection, your community requires a moderator to approve all uploaded images in some comments before they can be displayed. Although you can see your uploaded images that are awaiting approval or flagged for review, other community members who view your images can only see the ones that have been approved. I'm not happy to know that our membership fees don't even merit getting a response to this issue. It seems as if AARP simply ignores issues from mere members.

Maybe we should all deactivate our AARP memberships due to political bias.
