Article idea - I've gotten no where with this

Hello,

I was wondering if you could look into this for me. These statistics show that most people with sleep apnea are older so this impacts us more. I am finding it impossible to get more supplies from my medical source. When I look online the manufacturer seems to be pushing a different model. They should be making what customers know will work without those customers having to go through another sleep study to make sure that the new style of mask works.

Please see what your reporters can come up with regarding this issue.

Thank you for your help.

a lot of recalls and lawsuits regarding some equipment could be an issue.  Another idea, if your health care provider will allow this (mine balked but finally gave in), ask for the cpap machine to be variable like the one they test you with.  i was given a machine set to a specific rate and then one day they said we have to change your rate, bring it in so we can adjust it.  They adjusted it and I could not sleep.  it sucked the air right out of me.  i asked for it to be readjusted then they made up some story of it being the holidays and I would have to wait a few weeks.  i told them if i have an accident while driving due to lack of sleep when you can fix this, you will be responsible.  They claimed the dr was on vacation, i told them get another dr, you have more than one sleep lab.  They finally fixed it and then i discovered the part about asking for the variable machine.  I have not had another person check it (a lot of it is now done remotely).  good luck with your needs.

Laurie @LaurieH743008 , are you asking AARP to respond? I see you posted this topic twice in their General Help Forum. NO pressure to respond. Take care, Nicole!
