Get Rid of the Flashing Ads!

I'd like to second the post by @linDue of 3-31-26. I don't think I have ever seen an online ad I hated as much as these. I have commented on the feedback tab on this site, and I have reached out to the customer service contact on the advertiser's site to advise them that I will never, never, never buy their products. I also will not be renewing my AARP membership if this continues. Whoever approved this seizure-inducing monstrosity of an ad campaign needs to be fired.

I emailed them and told them that was the end of my game playing on AARP. I also will not renew my membership. These are the worst ads I have ever seen, and I have never seen them on any other site. I have been checking out the games I play on other sites. I don't like it as well, as I enjoy the top ten scores, etc., and seeing how close I can get, but I am not willing to drive myself nuts with those ads. I'm sure that we are not the only people who hate the ads. If AARP wants to drive people away, they've chosen a very effective method.

@RoseInBlue and @linDue Have you tried enabling Pop-Up Blockers in your Chrome browser setting if you use Chrome, or whatever browser you might be using?

You can find that setting in Chrome, Privacy and Security section.

Many people here have Ad blocking software as well on their computers.

Ads can be annoying, but consumers have ways to disable them on their devices.  There will always be ads.  It’s up to us to manage our own devices.  If you’re not familiar with how to block them or how to use the setting on your browser to change this, maybe see if you can ask someone you may know who can help.

I use Firefox so did a Google search on what to look for in Firefox add-ons. I just added a popup blocker, and tried my favorite AARP game and so far it's working. I don't know if it will continue but that is a huge help, Serene. Happy spring to you! Thank you so much for the tip. I've never used blockers before.

Agreed. Hopefully there will be legislation requiring PSE warnings on EVERY site that promotes this content.
