Is anyone else still having trouble getting points for doing codeword?

I play everyday but can’t remember when was the last time I got points.

another day, another CodeWord pretty good score for winning, another no points. the chat lady said that we are not promised points. what?

That’s frustrating that you’re not getting your points.  I just played to see, and I got my points for it.

Hi @ld5951404and everyone following along,

One important thing to check with Codeword is the final step after you finish your puzzle. To receive points, you’ll need to make sure you tap/click the “Submit Score” button at the end of play.

Submitting your score is what actually triggers the event that sends your activity to AARP Rewards and awards the points. If that step is missed (or the screen is closed too quickly), the system may not register the play—even if you completed the puzzle.

A couple of quick tips that can help:

• Wait for the end-of-game screen to fully load
• Tap “Submit Score” (don’t just exit or navigate away)
• Give it a moment to process before closing the game

Ugh, second time in a week, earned no points for Codeword. (Not even a checkmark that i played.) And it was a pretty darn good score too.

I got my points just now.  Using the App on tablet.  I’m sorry that happened.  I wonder if we could get answers as to why this works for some and not others.  Very frustrating.

oh my gosh, today, a brand NEW problem in Games for Rewards.

Codeword shows with a checkmark that I have played today, but I haven't.

So I click on "codeword" to play, and the calendar that comes up shows that I have NOT

played today, which is correct. Then I play the game and (supposedly) win points for playing the game for the first time today, and it says something like "no points were rewarded because you have already played today".

I was having this trouble last year. Someone suggested waiting before submitting the score, and I have found that works 99% of the time. What I do is finish, but do not submit, then I go to other browser tabs, maybe read some email, then eventually go back and submit the score and it gives me my points.Not perfect, but almost always successful!

I can't find the post again, but someone said "wait for the animation to finish" to get points. I wasn't sure what animation they were talking about, but now I see that there is "confetti" that drops when I win, so I wait until the confetti stops and then submit. It seems to work.

I think that maybe Codeword isn't awarding the 300 points today? I just got my best score, but the points are not showing in "transaction history" for today. Is anyone else having this trouble on January 26, 2026?

I accessed the game "the long way", meaning i deleted my browser bookmark that took right to rewards games, and, on the advice of an AARP "chat session", first went to aarp.org, then clicked on "aarp rewards" on red banner, then clicked on earn points, then sorted by "games", then accessed CodeWord. It works so much better that way. But I miss my "fast way" bookmark.

It was doing better for a while, but the past few days it's been sketchy again. No points today! Got points yesterday... Inconsistent. You would think they could fix this after all this time. It's been months that this has been a problem.

I get points but once I finish for the day and go back later that day or the next it doesn’t show the last puzzle I worked on. It looks like I haven’t done any. Sometimes if I don’t do them every single day I forget what puzzle I did last and half to go back and forth and open puzzles to see the last one I did. Wish it would put a check mark that it was played.

Yes! I've been playing Codeword off and on for a long time, and it always seemed as though I got points only about half the time. I thought I must be exaggerating, but it turns out I wasn't. On December 1, I started keeping track of which days I got points and which days I didn't. I've played every day since then (36 days), and on 19 days I got points; on 17 days I got no points. That means that I got points only 53% of the time. The longest streak of getting points was 4 days: December 15 to 18.

I’ve been getting them every time I play, just got it today actually short while ago.  Using tablet and app.
