๐Ÿ“ฌย  USPS Warns Not To Use Their Blue Mailboxes (KFI AM 640)

IN MY OPINION - TIME FOR THEM TO REMOVE THEIR BLUE MAILBOXES AND EMPLOY MORE "COUNTER" HELP INSIDE POST OFFICES.  ๐Ÿ˜Ž  ANY OPINIONS?  ๐Ÿค”

It has long been known that BAD people sometimes steal mail - from the USPS Blue Drop boxes but also from your own mailbox.  So one should always be careful what they are mailing from those pick up points.

It probably happens in some localities more than others but they could strike anywhere - at least with the USPS Blue Drop boxes, they usually have to do some destruction to get at the mail - but with ones own mailbox, they just have to reach in if you only have a regular type of mailbox.

I donโ€™t understand your. comment about adding more counter help at a post office for this - Most USPS mail places have an inside drop and that would be more secure for regular mailing with postage and mailing method already completed.

Where I live which is pretty rural, if you book it, the mail person will come to your door and pick up packages and mail that you are mailing to others.

Mail that contains checks with your account number or important mail that has a lot of personal info probably should be mailed by special means - to get there fast and with a record.

Criminals are getting better and better with technology.

(3/3/24) @GailL1 , one of the "suggestions" in the article was to USE THEIR COUNTER instead of mailboxes. So my "suggestion" is to ADD MORE EMPLOYEES. Usually there are CLOSED counter spots the few times I have gone "inside" with the LINE stretching to OUTSIDE the post office.  ๐Ÿ˜Ž

@Winter2024

I think that is overkill - and a lot more expensive for postal users.  Whatโ€™s the difference between handing (completed) mail to a postal clerk and inserting it into an โ€œINSIDEโ€ the post office box?  Labor cost alone would be a lot greater.

Letโ€™s save money where we can -
