For Renew Active to have a given gym in its network, the gym and Renew Active have to agree on how much Renew Active will reimburse the gym when Renew Active members go there.  If the two parties can't come to an agreement, then the gym is dropped from Renew Active's network.

I'll bet that if your Y was willing to accept $0 reimbursement for Renew Active members who scan in, Renew Active would jump on it.  And if Renew Active offered your Y $100 each time a Renew Active scanned in, your Y would jump on it.  The reality is that the reimbursement is somewhere in between those, and either your Y refused to accept the reimbursement Renew Active offered or Renew Active refused to accept the reimbursement your Y demanded.  

It definitely sucks.  I lost access to a Y I really liked going to a couple of years ago, and there was no decent substitute in the Renew Active network.  

You should ask your Y if they still participate in Silver Sneakers. If not, then that's definitely a sign that your Y is the one refusing what the plans are offering.  But if they are, there are some companies that include Silver Sneakers in their Medigap supplements.  Gym benefits are nowhere near as prevalent with Medigap supplements as they are with Advantage plans, but they do exist.
