Discount code for a play

I just had an extremely frustrating conversation with an agent from AARP--whose name I couldnt understand and I wound up hanging up after 20 minutes.

I had called a local Theatre to make reservations for a play:  Gateway Playhouse in Bellport New York.  

The person on the phone at Gateway told me that I can get discount tickets through my AARP Membership.  But I need the CODE.

I tried to explain this to the AARP agent.   She kept asking me if the person at the Playhouse told me the Code.   I said he didnt.  He told me I have to get it from AARP.  If he had told me the Code, I wouldnt have had to call AARP.

She looked it up and said that Gateway Playhouse wasn't coming up. She said she would ask someone else.  We went round and round!    I waited on the phone for 20 minutes and then finally asked her if someone from AARP could call me back.  She said they dont do that.  I am at a loss here.    Can anyone help?

Debra @DebraR171920 , AARP no longer "allows" us to HELP each other ON THIS SITE as we use to for years. Violation of their guidelines per this year 2025.  🙄

So with this said, I am hoping AARP @AARPConsumerCare will send you an AARP Private Message (PM) with the code you are seeking. Or post a LINK to find it. Or post the code on THIS SITE.

AARP does NOT work on weekends anymore, so it will be MONDAY before they "clock" back in.

 That makes absolutely no sense!  I agree.... it's ridiculous that AARP wont help us with things that we care about.   Can anything be done???

Hi Ginny @GinnyH387654 , unfortunately we are stuck with the way things are. I may be wrong, but I feel AARP is shutting down this Community Board & Awards Program. Why am I saying this? Years ago, SPAM didnot live on the Community Board & awards/games/quizzes were FUN. Now spammers have taken over & reported SPAM never deleted. I am concerned that some "senior" may CLICK on the spam and lose their life or savings. And you already know about the topic of this thread. Take care my friend, Nicole  👵
