Asteroids top score

Is there a maximum top recorded score for Atari Asteroids? I've exceeded 900,000 twice, and each time it did not record my score (either as a daily best or a personal best).  If anyone knows, please reply.  Thanks much.

    Yes, there is a maximum score.  We are lifting the score to a higher maximum but guessing it won't be long before you hit that too!
