How do I get started, with fitness program?

Such a great question!  And the exciting part is that you can do ANYTHING!  But maybe that feels a little overwhelming, doesn't it?

So, here's my question for you:  what do you ENJOY?  That's the absolute best place to start.

For me, I started with about ten minutes of walking three to five times a week, and didn't do anything else for about a year.  By then, I was ready to branch out and try something new, so I started to run a little bit.  Then, a few months after that, I added some bodyweight strength.  And then, some time after that, I tried using dumbbells.  Over the years, I've ended up building a robust routine that includes lots of different equipment and types of exercise, but I definitely didn't start with that.

The moral of this story:  Start small, do what you like, and don't be in a hurry to "get there."

If you'd like something relatively simple to start with, you might like this quick walking workout from my YouTube channel:  10 Minute POWER WALK

I'm physically disabled and can't stand for more than a minute or two without a lot of pain.  What are some exercises I can do that will be effective without having to stand?

Do you recommend any full length chair yoga videos?

Great question!  There are LOTS of options for chair yoga workouts on YouTube, where you can watch and follow along for free!  A quick search came up with hundreds of results.  My suggestion is to click on a few of them and see if you like the instructions and whether or not it feels easy to follow along.  Here are the search results:  Chair Yoga on YouTube

It sounds like you might enjoy a regular WALKING routine!  Walking is a fantastic exercise that has so many benefits, and it's incredibly simple.

Getting started is easy, too:  you can walk in place inside your house for 5 to 10 minutes a day to get used to the motion and stay safe.  When that becomes a daily habit, you can expand your horizons by taking it outside and going a little longer.

Over time, walking will strengthen your leg muscles (which can reduce pain in your knees) and - along with eating the right number of calories each day - help you lose weight, too.

Enjoy!!

Do you have any suggestion on exercises I can do to strengthen the muscles around my knees?  Thanks!

Great question!  If you have a specific issue with your knees, your absolute best bet is to talk to your doctor and request physical therapy.  A physical therapist will be able to determine your exact issue and recommend targeted exercises that are best suited for YOU.

If your query is more general, rest assured that ANY type of regular exercise done with good form will strengthen ALL parts of your body, including the muscles around your knees!

Hello!  Is anyone there to answer these queries?  They seem to be going on deaf ears.
