We always try and book air and hotels as soon as flights or hotels become available.  330 days out for most airlines and 11 months out for most hotel chains.  Then you get best selections on inventory and seating, besides lower pricing (that can be adjusted later if going lower) Plus you have plenty of time to change or cancel plans also.  The airlines most likely change flights being 330 days out, thus you secure the cheaper flights, then when airlines change schedules, you can select any flights, with no extra costs.

Travel has been opening my eyes. Trip to Sicily was a chance to experience a different culture. The people, food and the country are so warn and welcoming.

Start by finding a cheap flight or miles/points redemption to a destination of interest and then start searching for accommodation that fits into budget and lifestyle needs.

The best tip I can give is to pack lightly. Check the weather where you are going and pack things that can go together. It is less stressful to have to drag a heavy bag or a lot of luggage.

I like to search for deals last minute to be flexible and see how far I can stretch a dollar.

I search for deals on hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and businesses to use along the way to save money especially on trips.

Vacation? I haven’t taken a vacation since 1990 when my daughter was born. Those 20 days went by way too fast. I obviously won’t win this contest, but if I did, I hope the gift card can be used on food or other necessities. I’m tired of eating Ramen, macaroni & cheese, tomato soup and tuna. Maybe I could splurge on a pound of hamburger or some hot dogs. Or, I could possibly afford to occasionally lower my A/C down from 83 to 82.

Do not fly on airlines that put dei requirements ahead of piloting qualifications.
