What will happen next? Will I still receive my retirement benefits?

I am now truly scared; I rely totally on my social security retirement monthly check. What happens if these two outside the system choose to end that? They've ended other programs within 20 days; what happens if I end up on the street with only a blanket and a bag of dirty clothes? Guess done...

      The difference in the programs - Social Security (and Medicare) have legislated funding mechanisms to the Trust Funds.

       

      Congress does NOT fund them by appropriations.

       

      EDITED TO ADD:  We (the beneficiaries and Congress - both parties) are doing a pretty good job of the programs destruction all by ourselves.

        Why is AARP silent on the dismantling of our government's system of checks and balances, the autocrats running amuck with our personal data, government payments, not to mention all pretense of social justice?

        The unlawful takeover of government payments including Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security MUST be addressed by AA'RP. Why is the power of this vast collective of our nation's wisest and richest generation silent in the face of the dismantling of our nation's system of checks and balances?
