Spousal Benefits questions

Me and my wife both applied for social security benefits on the same date Oct 1,2026,My FRA  is significantly higher then hers since she has only worked 3 years on the past 30 years and i have worked for 36 straight I  thought that if we applied the same day and we both enterd our spouses s/s number and marriage date that the conputer would natch them and calculate the spousal benefits.

We have both received our individual benefit letters but nothing on her spousal benefits. I went to the local office and found out theres a glitch since we filed on the same day and it has closed both our accounts and must be re opened manully by the ssa to link our accounts. I called the national number and they said only the local office could do it and the local office told me i could do it online but it takes me into a endless loop.

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve. I am going to our local office tomorrow and try to have supervisor link the accounts. I am so frustrated. It seems the people at the ssa dont care or dont know or both..

Please help

Kevin @KevinR129359 , did you make an appointment? NO pressure to answer, I will understand. Hopefully you did so you can speak to someone in "person". They may do "walk ins" but you maybe there a very long time waiting. Yes, it seems on the phone, some of them DONOT know their jobs. Good Luck!!! 🤞

Kevin @KevinR129359 , I prefer appointments but I respect you being okay with walking in. IF they DONOT help, your Congress Person will. Mine did with an "issue" I had a few years ago.
