RELEASED: 2026 Social Security and Medicare Trustee Report

Gail1, thanks for posting the info. I have not read the entire Trustee Report with all of the assumptions. The summary was disappointing. It looks like depletion of the OASI in the 4th Quarter of 2032 which is 6 years from now. I thought it would be earlier. I suspect that if nothing is implemented to fund the SS funding shortfall, the SS Trust may deplete earlier in 2032 or perhaps 2031. 

I think SS Benefit increases due to COLA may have greater negative impacts than projected. As you know, all SS Beneficiaries receive COLA regardless of their income. At this point in time, all we can do is hope a viable solution is forthcoming maybe even "wish upon a star".
