NOBODY gets $ 1300 from SSI ( Supplemental Security Income) - Supplemental Security Income is different than a Social Security Benefit of Retirement, Social Security Disability or Survivors benefits.

I’m betting you are talking about a Social Security Benefit of Retirement- and in that case, there is NO limit to the amount of money one can have in their bank account(s).

This is different than SSI (Supplemental Security Income) because SSI is a welfare program for those who are blind, aged or disabled who have NO or little Social Security benefits.  And since it is a welfare program, there is a $ 2000 limit to what one can have in their bank account(s) at the end of every month.  BTW, the MAXIMUM SSI benefit is $ 943 a month and is offset (reduced) by any in-kind payments.

The Social Security Administration oversees both programs - the EARNED programs of Social Security Retirement or Old Age, Disability and Survivors benefits AND the WELFARE program of Supplemental Security Income (SSI).  Different programs / different rules.
